thats all well and good. and it is VERY possible thats how it pans out. but dont diminish the value of draft picks. thats how teams are built and thats how teams stay good teams. through the draft. if we dont address oline in the draft how will you feel in say week 6 if clady reinjured something and then we have qvale and giocomini as our tackled for the next 10 weeks? because thats also a realistic scenario.
Getting Clady won't have much of an effect on our draft plan I mean if we still had Brick we would still be most likely drafting 2 lineman ... its just now more so than ever in the spotlight because of what has transpired

From the looks of things we've got just under 4 mil in cap space including the recent signings of Ijalana and Jeremy Ross so expect another move to come from MM soon most likely once we draft Breno's replacement as we still need money for Fitz or whoever we bring in via trade, and our draft picks. I wouldn't be surprised if we cut Breno and Folk for a savings of of 6.5 mil combined.
No because when he gets cut the prorated bonus all comes as a cap hit this year, $5M from Brick plus $6M from Clady is $11M cap hit, $3M savings.
Well said. I also believe there is something else behind this move. I have a strong suspicion Clady was ask rather bluntly to take a big pay cut to stay in the team and he wanted no part of it. He felt that Denver had lost faith in his ability to stay healthy.
They wanted him to take a pay cut and also acquired guys that put him in back of the line. He wouldn't reduce his salary and then risk not even being able to get on the field when healthy because he had fallen behind on the depth chart. Would have made absolutely no sense for him to do that. At least with the contract he has with us now, he knows he's penciled in as the starter is long as he's healthy and he's got a chance to prove his worth either the money on his deal for next year or something more than he's worth this year at least.
Not mad about this trade. If he can stay healthy we have a solid replacement this season. If he doesn't or just doesn't play up to the par, we part ways.
It's really as simple as this. Especially when you consider there were no viable options via free agency and you can never depend on an LT to just step right in out of college and give you solid production. At least no LT you can grab at 20
