I think my thoughts have changed slightly. I still think the Jets will have a very tough time in New England next week. The Patriots are beatable, but the Jets can't stop the run. Just have to focus and get an early lead. The Bears looked horrible today and I now think the Jets will have a shot to beat them. The Bears have to fly to New York, play a game against a tough Giants team. Then go home and practice, then come back and play the Jets. Could be difficult for them to handle all of that. I still think it will be tough for the Jets to win either game, but I am liking my chances a little more now. What are your guys thoughts?
  Changed? The Pats looked as good as possible against the class of the AFC. They will continue to run down our throat as every team has done all year. Nothing has changed. We will lose by a wide margin.
Yeah, like I said, my thoughts on the Patriots game haven't changed. Except for the fact that they always win after a loss, which makes me feel worse.
Remember the JETS hung with the Colts to. And if our defense could of stopped them we win that game. Three keys for next week: 1. Contain the run. Chances are NE will have 100+ yds rushing, but we need to make them earn it. 2. We need to run the ball. I hope Houston returns because a Leon, Cedric and Barlow combination might work. 3. Justin Miller.... that guy Wilkens torched the Pats on kick-offs... if Miller runs well that means we have good position all day which will help our offense. beating the Pats will be tough but that's why we play the game. I can see it being very close
I watched America's Test Kitchen. That didn't tell me that much about what will happen against the Patriots.
Sure, the Pats are beatable...just not to a team who can't stop the run, can't get pressure on the QB, can't cover WRs without constantly getting flagged for PI, and can't sustain a consistent Colts-like offense.
This thread is talking about the next 2 weeks. Not just the Patriots game. Today affected my thoughts much more on the Bears than it did the Patriots.
The only thing that changed for me based on today's play is my opinion of the Bear's chances to win the Super Bowl: not gonna happen. The Bear offense just looked pitiful all day long and Grossman looked like exactly the wrong kind of QB to lead a defensively oriented team. His reads were bad and his ball protection was pitiful. As to the Jet's chances in the next couple of weeks I think it really comes down to what adjustments the coaching staff has made on the defensive side of the ball during the bye week. If Rashad Moore is capable of playing the majority of the downs, which is an open question, then that would be one possible winning adjustment. The next question would be: is there anybody who can play outside to replace Hobson? Finally, is David Barrett healthy enough to play in the second half of the season? Positive answers to all 3 questions would definitely give the Jet's a shot, albeit a small one, to win either or both of the games next up.
I could reword what you wrote, agree with it, and then make it my own, but what would be the point? I couldn't say it any better.
My opinion of the Jet defense hasn't changed and unless the CS fixed the run defense over the bye week, the Jets will be 4-6 in two weeks. Nothing that happened today can change that.
I think after what i saw this week only, the Bears are the more beatable team. From the rest of the season, the pats looked like the more beatable team.
They are both beatable, it's just unlikely by us. Remember, Miami has a good defense, so they can pressure Grossman into making mistakes. The Colts have a strong offense, so they can actually score against the Patriots at will. We don't really have either of those. I mean watching the Patriots lose to the Colts, why should that change anyone's opinion, we're not the Colts. I doubt the Bears will have another flukey game, I just do not see them turning the ball over to use like that. I also really do not see our offense doing anything against either of those two defenses. I thought we matched up better against the Colts, if we were going to beat a good team this year that was our best shot at it. It's of course POSSIBLE that we win the next two, but i wouldn't bet much on it. I go into every game hoping for a Jets win though.
Slim to no chance of beating Pats. They looked good and they do not loose 2 in a row, especially at home. Although 'any given sunday', the parody in the NFL has been evident with all of the upsets in the past three weeks. No reason we can't pull one ourselves. We will have had 2 weeks of prep. I think we have a much better chance of beating the bears. Grossman has a tendancy to throw Int's. I think we loose a little bit of our home feild advantage due to the fact the bears play the giants a week earlier. coming out of the next two weeks .500 would be amazing, any better would be a very plesant SHOCK! As long as we are competitive i will be happy.
I still think we're going to get our asses kicked by the Pats, and the Bears game will probably be a close loss like the Indy game.
It depends on what defense of ours shows up,the one in the 1st half of the Cleveland game,or the one in the second half.
