Love this move. Mac is clearly demonstrating that he will practice his philosophy of filling needs through free agency and trades, and take the best available players in the draft. As others have mentioned, this is a low risk high reward move. It's great to see a consistent approach to roster building that actually makes sense for both the short and long term. In Mac we trust!

Our only decent 5th rounder in 12 years

Last time I was here, I was to congratulate Jets fans for signing Eric Decker. This time, I'm here to do the same for the acquisition of Clady. I wouldn't be too alarmed about the injuries, they were different ones (Lisfranc, ACL) and I'm inclined to believe that they won't be chronic problems. As a Broncos fan I wish they had just kept him, but I can live with Russell Okung as the next best available replacement. I wish Clady the best in New York...especially when he plays the Patriots!

Did they get a player who can start the next 2 or 3 years? Played only about 33% of the games the last 3 years.

I don't recall a ton of negativity when the Jets got Marshall.

We'll know how much of a risk when the cap figure comes out.

Even if he stays healthy and be productive for the next year, I will take it. I hope his restructured contract is team friendly so we can get out of it next year if his health problems continue. Good move for a 5th rounder . Last year the 5th round trade worked out fine. I hope same happens again.

I like this. Much like Fitz and Marshall, he's taking another risk...low risk but one that can prove to be major. Let's see if it works for the 3rd time.

Would have preferred Joe Thomas but I think he would have cost more than a fifth rounder.

When healthy, Clady has looked damned good.

My point is you don't know whether it's Clady or a rookie. I'd lean towards the guy who dominated when healthy personally.

They're saying his deal will be similar to Okung. Guaranteed this year with a player option after. Cap number this year will be a few million less than the 9.5 mill listed. Means we'll get a few million in space. Pretty solid move.

A risk to be sure but it shows our front office is staying on point.

I think Elway really owes the Jets after giving a 4th for Tebow, probably should have given a 7th along with Clady for nothing at all.

I'm a jet fan from Colorado.... I've seen Clady a lot...... When healthy he's a top LT..... He likes to play basketball, that's how one of the two major injuries happened.....

5th rounders rarely turn out good starters anyway so a 5th for a good veteran, even if injury prone, is a good deal. Plus Mac managed to squeeze out a 7th.
