That is one HELL of a plan, to intentionally be a below average journeyman for 5 years in order to trick the Jets into signing him as a backup only to have a career year and get the Jets into cap hell with outrageous salary demands when he could have just had 5 good years or played well and stayed on the Bills for his full contract duration and made more money. So the Bills gave up on Fitz and lost themselves a good QB, just to hurt the Jets 5 years later, despite their own team getting worse over time. That's hilariously stupid.
