Adalius Thomas is 29 years old. He'll be 30 by the time next season opens. Do you really want to pony up a big signing bonus to add a 30 year old player on a 5 year contract? If the Jets sign anybody who is over 27 to a big deal it's going to hurt the rebuilding process.
im not saying 5 yr. just give him good money for 3 years. if he was looking for 5 than fine, forget him. hes someone who I think would be good in the system. especially since Sutton, for some odd reason, lines our OLB's up on the line of scrimmage over the tackles instead of dropping them 2-3 yards off the end to disguise blitzes. we can add LB through the draft for all i care, but those were just 3 names I think would be upgrades over our current personnel.
I just see age at this point as something the Jets do not need in their mix. I supported the Kimo Von Ohlhoffen signing because I thought it would bring experience in the 3-4 to the Jet's rebuilding process. Well, experience in the 3-4 isn't worth much obviously because the Jet's 3-4 has just sucked all season. I'd much rather get young players and teach them the system than try to retrofit in older players from other 3-4's at this point.
We have to sign Chris Brown!!!!! Not only can he play good, he is also a great singer and dancer. Those jukes and sexy moves in the dance floor that just makes you drool!!!
I'm getting on the Steinbach bandwagon....Anybody that says you don't overpay for a G is crazy. The Seahawks essentially traded a pro bowl G for a 4th string WR. Both are roughly making around the same amount of money. Now you tell me wh you'd rather have? In this day and age it's all about an OL. That is where it all starts. I'd much rather overpay for a potential pro-bowl G than an good OLB or CB. If you can't run or protect the QB you aren't going to win. It's that simple. Good LB's and CB's can be found in the draft but pro-bowl OL can't. I'd piss my pants and whistle dixie for an OL consisting of Mangold, Steinbach and D Brick. We draft a RT in the draft and Kendall goes another year and Leon has big holes and the QB gets protection......
count me in too. While I like Moore, I think we really could use an upgrade. And you're point about Hutchinson is a very good one. You definitely need that guy that will open up the holes.
They're not making close to the same money. Hutchinson got $16 million in guarantees, while Burleson got $5.25 in guarantees.
I understand that but it's what 49 mill over 7 years. If they both play out hte contract they both make about 49 million.
Their fit OUR system. Both Lovie and Dungy run Kiffins D or some form of it. Sad to say their running it better right now.
Cato June is 22 i like him alot but not in the 3-4 we already got a small speedy linebacker in Vilma another another one in June, well might as well move back to the 4-3.Briggs would be better but i havent seen him play alot, he only has one sack so he isnt a sack specialist.Thomas would be the perfect fit for 3-4 but only for 3 years though 4 years max.Steinbach would also be a good fit at guard.Ken Hamlin is somebody i like, the dude could hit. http://media.putfile.com/Seahawks---Ken-Hamlin When i saw that vid i was damn, put him in a jet uniform at strong safety and we would be set for awhile Hamlin,Steinbach andThomas would make us contenders next year.
