COMEBACK PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Jets QB Chad Pennington.

Did anyone ever really believe this guy would come back, start and be successful again? You in the back with his hand raised ... come on! Nobody expected Pennington to return to form much less look, at times, better than he had pre-injury. The Browns' TE Kellen Winslow could end up with the honors by year's end.

With more performances like last week, Winslow or Javon Walker will definitley win it ahead of him. Not to get down on Chad, but we win that game last week if he plays better, and smarter football.

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR: Saints WR Marques Colston.

How in the world could the Jets have missed on this guy? Heck, he played college ball at the Jets practice facility. Saints head coach Sean Payton saw something in him very early in the preseason and never looked back. He's one of the NFL's most productive receivers. OK, raise your hands if you knew Colston would be the best rookie on the Saints this year. After all, they got some other dude there they claim is pretty good too.

He had a very bad combine if anyone watched some of it on NFL Network. He showed that he often caught with his body, and didn't have the initial quickness or hip movement to be an NFL receiver in the NFL. Take it with a grain of salt, but that's how irrelevant the combine can be.

Regarding Kellen Winslow, shouldn't you have actually played in a few NFL games before you qualify for Comeback player of the year.
Shouldn't you need to have been There for more than two games in your rookie season in order to qualify for Coming back

And if he doesn't play well, the Jets lose to Tennessee, Buffalo, and Miami

    MVP: Patriots quarterback Tom Brady

OK, let's get this straight, in the last two years he's lost his offensive guru Charlie Weis, his top two receivers and multiple offensive linemen and the entire world has a big ol' red X zeroed in on his chest. Yet, the man is unflappable. Brady clearly doesn't have the weapons that Indy's Peyton Manning has, or the stability for that matter. Donovan McNabb would be a candidate here as well if his team had a better record. The Bears' Brian Urlacher should also get some votes here.

No way Chad hangs on as comeback player of the year unless the Jets have a winning season.

I didn't believe Chad could come back and play at this level. The miracles of modern medicine can't be overlooked here.

I have noticed that all is not cookies and cream with Chad's play. When Chad is good, he's good. When Chad is bad, he really stinks the joint up. That inconsistency just might cost him "comeback player of the year".

Since he was picked in the 7th round every other team missed on him.

They always make some kind of excuse for Brady, don't they? Even with his best week of the year last week, he is FAR from the best quarterback, let alone the best PLAYER, in the league. It's always "he comes up big at the right time," or "he doesn't have the weapons around him." Manning deserves it by lightyears over him, as well as Bulger, McNabb, Tomlinson, and Larry Johnson.

Well obviously if he plays like he did in the Browns game we'll lose those games. We'll lose every game that he plays like crap in. I don't think anyone is arguing that.

He's had a decent season thusfar, but some of his decisions confuse me. He's a leader and I love Chad, for christ sake. I was stating the obvious, but it's tough to say he's a lock for the award when he puts up a goose egg like last week with players like Javon Walker also having an excellent season. It wasn't a knock on him, moreso a criticism. As minute as it may seem, 4-4 and 5-3, when your next two games are New England and Chicago, ,akes for a big difference.

They make excusses for him? He has the rings the other guys are the ones with who need the excusses. Brady is a absolute lock for the HOF if he never takes another snap. He is by far the best player in this league, it isn't even close at the moment. He ate McNabb for lunch head to head in the SB when McNab had the better team. Tomlinson hasn't been as good as Barber the last few years and playing on a great team they didn't even make the playoffs last year. Brady is the standard that every other player has to match up to.

Brady in the playoffs has put up better numbers and more wins than either McNabb or Manning in almost an equal number of attempts he also has 3 rings to Zero for every player you mentioned.

Tomlinson in his one playoff appearance had 80 yards on 26 carries and 0 TD. Larry Johnson hasn't ever played in a playoff game.
