Happy that we have a GM not dumb enough to throw 15 million at a journeyman like Fitz? Geno vs. Petty is fine with me as long as we make smart moves in FA and the draft. If another QB falls into our lap then so be it but I'm not paying that outrageous amount for Fitzpatrick....
Here you can book it. If Geno does get the start and 4 games into the season. If Geno looks like shit I will be the first to be saying Geno got to be benched.
Oh yes he is, Jay-Z! If Geno is our starter this year, I will vote for Hillary Clinton. Reasoning that if I have to be miserable so should everybody else.
Yes, it might be true that Geno is terrible, however......wait that's about it. Nothing further to add.
it would make for an entertaining season - but the trouble is so many of our top players are nearing the end of their careers - we need a good QB so badly but then we have needed one for the last 30 odd years and never really managed it so I don't see them solving this problem any time soon.
Having read all the thread,I have to look at the last Miami game he played in. He destroyed the Fish and there you see his up side. The other side of that is the Buffalo game where he threw pick after pick. I have to think that with the weapons available to him now, that the progression would lean more towards the upside. How much we won't know until he gets under center. I certainly don't think we should be paying a backup QB more then 8 million, with no more then two years guaranteed. I'm still willing to see what we have in Geno, it's really a win/win for the Jets. If he craps the bed them no question about his future with this team. If on the other hand the lights have finally come on and say 60% of his games look like the Miami game could be another win. Trade value goes up big time or maybe we finally found the kid to lead this team and we tag him to make sure it was no fluke. This all the while or cap gets stronger and allow the Jets to continue to build into the future.
