Not to change the topic but if Amaro isnt guaranteed a roster spot , Milliner shouldn't be either. But as it stands right now I think Amaro has a much better shot to succeed next year. Maybe that says more about Milliner though. And considering TE is a position of need , Amaro should get opportunities to prove his worth. But the staff needs to realize , which Im sure they do , that he isnt a blocking TE. So hopefully they dont treat him as one. What he is though , is a big target , that with time and patience can become a solid player.
Enunwa is going to take his snaps for sure if Amaro doesn't start blocking better. The slot belongs to Decker.
Unless Amaro is mentally weak, he will have no problems showing his ability as a key offensive weapon in this offense, Enunwa will be a blip in the radar when Amaro gets comfortable. I don't know if TB is taking this tough love a bit too far, Amaro had a terrible QB in his rookie year and would have had better numbers with a better QB, the guy was open quite a bit, the ball just never came to him. Can't wait for this kid to shut up the negative nellies.
Chances are that no matter what he has going for him he will somehow not impress the mastermind Chan Gailey and will have like 20 snaps all season and get cut.
I hope you're right, but I fear you're not. I think the "better QB" argument is weak. Amaro dropped a bunch of passes in TC and in games. Either he was thinking too much, isn't very bright or has suspect hands. IMO even with his drops, Enunwa has looked like a real football player to me. Amaro has just looked like a clumsy pussy.
I'm rooting for him. But it's time for Jace to shit or get off the pot. We need a fukn TE for fucks sake already. It seems like forever that we've gotten some production there..... let alone a a viable threat. Fuck Cumby too already. Btw, Gailey's proved that he'll use whatever he can to succeed. Geno did not elevate that offense in any way shape or form, guys were mad at Decker because of his lack of production with Geno as his QB. The QB matters, Enunwa dropped just as many and important passes that cost the jets, the difference was that the jets QB went back to him and he redeemed himself, Amaro has never had that with the jets. Only time will tell, I'm of the opinion that he will be fine if given a chance by this CS.
