This is a weak argument. Payton's first year, Denver weather was mild the whole time. Never played in a game under 40 degrees, never played in a wind above 15mph. Hell he even lucked out in the SuperBowl with the 1 day in NY that winter that was not bone chilling cold. The next year Peyton's numbers dropped off a cliff when Denver had a more normal winter. Look at Payton's record in below freezing games. It is deplorable. Now look at Brady's, you will see a mile of difference. Not to mention, you bring up cheating, in Peyton's 1st year in Denver happen to coincide with his wife all the sudden deciding to join the east German Swim Team. People act like Brady and Moss played their careers together like Payton did with Harrison or Reggie Wayne. They played 1 year together, not 10. And the 1 year they played together, Brady had record breaking performance year. He has had nice WRs, I am the biggest Troy Brown fan their is, he is not Harrison, Wayne ,Thomas or even Emmanuel. Welker was a great slot guy same with Julian, love both players, not in the same league as Paytons offensive talent. And again if you consider their stats, they are very similar. QB rating eerily the same, TD to Int very close, yards per season, and TDs per season, pretty much the same. xcept Brady did it out doors, and Paytons bulk was indoors. Brady has every postseason passing stat, does that not count either. Hell he is even up their in all time postseason rushing TDs. I really didn't bring up team success at all in my arguments. But I do think having the best win percentage of all time, most playoff ins of all time is worth mentioning. I am not sure even Archie would put Payton in front of Brady.
brady and moss played more than 1 year together. you are supposed to be a patriots fan? you have their bullshit arrogance but you don't even know about the team. I guess you qualify as a typical patriots fan
Strike four, you're out. 2010 New England Patriots 4 9 139 15.4 34.8 35T 3 3 0 6 0 2009 New England Patriots 16 83 1,264 15.2 79.0 71T 13 18 7 62 2 2008 New England Patriots 16 69 1,008 14.6 63.0 76T 11 14 3 46 3 2007 New England Patriots 16 98 1,493 15.2 93.3 65T 23 18 9 74 0 Mr. Gorbachev, .......
And you keep talking about Peyton Manning played with Marvin Harrison all those years. He only played with Marvin Harrison one year. Pretty sure, but, hey, I'm not a Colts fan. _
i appreciate the reference to the east german swim team. although it was more the power lifters and gymnasts that were hairy beasts. i also appreciate you quoting that joe, or i would have never seen it as im not going to read some horseshit, bullshit diatribe by a guy who doesnt even know who mosi tatupu or andre tippett are.
hahahahhaa no he did play with him numerous years. 10 i think. but one could say marvin harrison would have sucked if it werent for fivehead manning.
Career Passing and Career TD's are the biggest QB all time records. Below is the list of past winners, which show who else left the game on top of the books. Career Passing records: Johnny Unitas 1956-1973 (40,239) Fran Tarkenton 1961-1978 (47,003) Dan Marino 1983-1999 (61,361) Brett Favre 1991-2010 (71,838) Peyton Manning 1998-2015 (71,940) Career Touchdown records: Johnny Unitas 1956-1973 (290) Fran Tarkenton 1961-1978 (342) Dan Marino 1983-1999 (420) Brett Favre 1991-2010 (508) Peyton Manning 1998-2015 (539) Single Season Passing records: Joe Namath 1967 (4,007) Dan Fouts 1979 (4,082); 1980 (4,715); 1981 (4,802) Dan Marino 1984 (5,084) Drew Brees 2011 (5,476) Peyton Manning 2013 (5,477) Unitas, Tarkenton, Marino, Favre, and Manning all held the Career Passing and Career TD's records at the same time. Only Marino and Manning held the Career Passing, Career TD's, Single Season Passing and Single Season TD's all at the same time. Would have to consider all 5 of them amongst the top 10 all-time. In addition to the all time records, it's good to look at who the best players were in individual years compared with their peers. 1st team All-Pro is a good measure of best QB of the year, as only 1 QB is selected for this. Same goes for MVP. Only 10 QB's all time have received 3 or more 1st team All-Pro's. They are listed below along with the number of MVP's they've received (Note the AP MVP started in 1956, and some below played prior to that, and does not factor AFL). 1st Team All-Pro selections: Peyton Manning 7 All-Pro, 5 MVP Otto Graham 7 All-Pro Johnny Unitas 5 All-Pro, 3 MVP Sid Luckman 5 All-Pro Sammy Baugh 4 All-Pro Brett Favre 3 All-Pro, 3 MVP Joe Montana 3 All-Pro, 2 MVP Steve Young 3 All-Pro, 2 MVP Dan Marino 3 All-Pro, 1 MVP YA Tittle 3 All-Pro, 1 MVP It's tough to compare generation to generation, but this is a decent baseline of past greats.
I might put Montana at #1 overall, as he did win 4 Super Bowls, against some great QB's: Dan Marino, John Elway and Boomer Esiason (who was the NFL MVP that season). If you do that, then Peyton would be #2. It is hard to compare them both. Montana did have Jerry Rice too.
