Bobby April had very little to work with but he couldn't even to get them to perform as a cohesive unit, never mind improve individual performances. Good riddance.

Forgot about that guy. Cut him and stop punting period. We might actually be better off just throwing 70 yard bombs on 4th and long, if the defense is stupid enough to intercept the pass. But it's not like they have an option, if they don't our receivers will make the play. I should send my resume over to the facility and apply for the job. Previous experience: "Posted some stuff on TGG on how to improve the ST unit."

Clearly the weakest unit on the Jets this year. The offense got pulled out of the gutter this year, hopefully the same happens to special teams next year.

Well he's an RFA, so no cutting required. I know he sucks, but would be prudent for the team to at least assess the market for any RFA, and make any tender offers according to their assessment and possible compensation if signed away.

Not likely in Quigley's case, but worth going through the steps regardless.

Nice move, like the fact that TB can assess the team and make an effort to strengthen team weakness.

Remember when our ST unit was top tier our O was throwing picks left and right ... maybe just maybe we could get all our units to work well together ... oh wait that would be sooooo un Jets like ... ugh

I'm honestly surprised ,Its hard to tell who's fault it is.....The special teams unit is lacking KRs,Punters,A real field goal kicker.I figured he would atleast get another year.Get Westoff out of retirement

Rex Ryan fired the GMs? No, coaches don't make that decision.

Rex made the decision to get rid of Marty? Clearly not; he was fired at the same time as Rex.

Rex fired Westhoff? No. He retired. And Westhoff's successor Kotwica left of his own accord to go to the Redskins.

You're not right about the DCs, either. Lets remember Mike Pettine left of his own accord (His contract had expired). His successor was fired the same year as Rex.

Who exactly did Rex choose to fire?

EDIT: Rex may have fired Sparano. After 2013 when we ranked 30th of 32 teams in offense, it was a no brainer. So there's exactly 1 coach fired by Rex since Schotty, it seems.

Rex hired Sporano and Marty. Yikes

ST's get better when the roster is deeper. When the roster went to shit 2012 Westhoff couldn't help.

April didn't look like a good fit anyway

Bill Callahan also left of his own accord, even after he was offered a new contract by the jets.
