I actually rooted for the Brooklyn Dodgers until they left. I have memories of those games. I was 8 when they went. I even rooted for them until the mets came. but not as hard. I was a huge Koufax fan. I liked Bob Gibson too. Two guys who dominated baseball and could not even straighten their pitching arms they were so arthritic. The Knicks grabbed two championships. Hell, I was 46 when the Rangers finally won a Cup. Could not root for the yanks though. Used to watch them from 57 and 62 because i loved baseball, but I always rooted against them

Thank you for being the voice of reason in this thread.

Not that this matters, but I have been posting on message boards since 2001. If I posted the same question on a board where I was an established poster, the question would have just been answered without the childish "I have more posts than you" garbage. Post count is completely irrelevant. I have seen first time posters ask good questions and I have seen "veterans" post garbage.

I am fully supporting this team. I'm not cheating myself out of enjoying the moment. It was a hypothetical question that came with two days of waiting for what is essentially the beginning of the playoffs.

I have watched this team for 35 years, and I have seen this episode many times. It's part of being a Jets fan, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. My blood is green.

    You're welcome.

I agree with your comments. This isn't the only board where I've seen the post count stuff and attempts to be a censor, but it happens more here than any other Jets site on which I've posted. I'm not sure why that is. We all come here with varying levels of knowledge, experience, perspectives, etc. What is an insightful or interesting point to one poster is utter garbage to another. I try not to be guilty of that, but know I am probably guilty of that at times. We all need to learn to be more respectful, patient and tolerant with each other. We might just learn something or realize that there is another equally valid way to look at things. I guess some of us get threatened by different viewpoints. Then again, our culture is so polarized and so disrespectful of contrasting viewpoints and perspectives, I guess it's not too surprising then that we have it here too, but it's sad.

If you had paid attention, you would have read the word hypothetical.

I am officially blaming you for today's loss.

We had things all set up for us to finally win it all and you jinxed up.

    It is all your fault.

Thank you for backing me up...negative thoughts lead to negative outcome.

Hypothetically if we tarred and feathered CherbetCrunch for causing us to lose would anyone blame us?

How anyone could watch that game today and think anything of this season other than a failure is beyond me.

The Bills were depleted and had nothing to play for while we were virtually healthy across the board with everything to play for. We lose. To Rex Fucking Ryan and the BUFFALO Bills. TWICE. Swept.

Yay... We broke multiple franchise records. Won 10 games. Awesome! But at the end of the day not a single person will remember anything but a knockout loss to the Bills with the season on the line. To me and any fan of football, epic fucking failure.

Hypothetically, if you tried, it would be a very bad outcome for you. Hypothetically though.

I'm officially calling you a moron for believing that. Not hypothetically though. You really are a moron, and you should feel bad about that.

That's because you obviously have a negative perspective and a negative way of looking at things. The team obviously isn't as good as some of you thought and they overachieved. The defense allowed Buffalo to march the ball down the field drive after drive, often throwing to Greg Salas. We obviously can't generate enough pressure on opposing QBs, we can't keep them in the pocket and prevent them from hurting us with scrambling, our LBs are too slow and secondary not the "great" secondary that many of us thought. Fitz is what he is. He played as well or better than ever, but in the end, he just isn't good enough. That's why I think Geno (if he's here) and Petty should be able to compete for the starting job next season.

You think that you are being funny but with Cherbet in your name I am guessing that you are young enough that you haven't watched this team blow opportunity after opportunity for four decades.

Any Jets fan that has had Superbowl dreams dashed in as many and under the unusual circumstances that Jets fans have suffered through, perhaps you would have known last week that you just don't go there.

Chances were that the Jets were going to screw this up and let us down yet again and they did not need you and your stupid thread to push them over that edge.

First, I don't THINK that I'm being funny. Second, it is very likely that I was at my first Jets game at Shea when you were still in your father's left nutsack. Third, if a thread causes you to get a sandy vagina, you should probably stop reading posts on a message board.

Yes. This season was a failure.

I think it was all the overconfidence Jets would win and shitty practical game planning that caused the loss. And waiving Woodhead of course

It's hard to be positive when you root for this team, but I definitely had a positive perspective on this season coming into this game. Especially after winning 6 straight after tanking a 4-1 start.

The Jets had one thing standing in the way of a playoff birth. The below .500 BUFFALO BILLS. When they shit the bed with everything riding on this game I don't see anything to be positive about.

Our roster is not set up for long term success, and frankly I could see us regressing back to 2013-2014 form with another year on the belt of some key plays and no real reason to believe Fitzpatrick will improve.

I agree with your last statement. Let Geno and Petty battle it out in camp along with (hopefully) a draft pick. It was disgusting seeing Fitz fluttering ducks get caught in the wind and falling short. If there was actually a winter this year I don't see us having that win streak with him at the helm. Agreed, we overachieved, and I don't believe that is a reason to say this season wasn't a failure.

We couldn't get off of the field on 3rd downs today due to a lack of pressure and #24 playing off coverage and looking like he couldn't give 2 shits now that he has a ring. That brings me to our coaching. When you consistently get burned by the same player every 3rd down maybe you should get some help for the guy that obviously doesn't give a shit if Watkins abuses him and our defense.

This season was an overachieving failure that got the hopes up of every single fan just so they could be crushed by the Rex Ryan Bills. FAILURE

None of Fitzpatrick, Smith, or Petty is the answer. This team has a narrow window to win (lol)- the first two aren't good enough, and the third will need too much time to develop (if he ever does). The Jets need to do everything they can to bring in Drew Brees.

Do you still stand by this? To me, it is SOJ. You have a game you need to and should win, but you play like trash and don't.
