I guess they'll clear it up in the post game but I thought that the Pats actually wanted to kick -- but he screwed it up because he thought he would get to choose which way they would kick off. (In other words, I thought the announcers were wrong.)
Bill bellichek made pats fans at the stadium perplexed and lost and confused like the dumbasses they were before 2001
He did want to kick off. The problem was over what side the Jets were gonna start from. If he had deferred, the Pats would've been able to pick which direction the Jets had to go on that drive.
the refs didn't botch that, i am actually surprised they didn't give them 3 extra chances to say they want the ball
I think it was on purpose too. Our D played really great all game. Pats had that one great TD drive but it took two huge fourth down conversions. Considering how we went 3 and out all fourth quarter seems like they felt their chances of scoring were better if they could force a punt and get the ball in good field position.
Why the hell would you want to kick in OT when your offense is #1 in scoring in the AFC averaging 30 per game?
Bill was all over the place today... going into the half taking a knee with plenty of time and I think 2 timeouts etc... what was he thinking... I was shocked !
I think he meant to say, we want to "receive" that way. Kind of like cousins last night kneeling before the half instead of spiking the ball Just a mental error of the game
The refs totally missed the face mask by one of the Pats in pass protection on the TD at the end. The play must have been right in the center of the field and that obscured the officials vision or something.
He looked like he was just trying to survive the game after Vollmer went out. Pats have been losing people like 2 and 3 at a time every week. They're the team really on a death march at this point.
Pretty sure they wanted to defend a specific side and Slater assumed they got to choose if they deffered. He fucked up.
Marshall just said that McDaniels told him after the game pretty much what I posted above. Also said he didn't believe him haha.
Did the Pats offense look like a #1 today? BB thought his best chance today was for his D to stop the Jets and get Gostkowski in position for a fg, The Jets fucked his plan up? It's not that complicated.
