Good. Guy should be suspended without question. I am really shocked though since they flexed this game to Sunday Night
The whole team is giving that narrative, Eli saying he is proud of Beckham for how he handled himself, said he took the high road. JPP said that Norman moved his head, that Beckham did not intentionally go head to head. Whole bunch of dumbassery there.
I guess they have to support their guys but it's so hollow and they must feel so embarrassed having to shill for that little piece of shit. _
So Jaworski throws in a probe news to see how ppl would react if Roger plays to his TV buddies.... Nice move Mods, can you ban Jaws for false news please? He is annoying and ugly
Okay. I can see what you are saying about the slam. I would have been okay with it, if it had something to do with the play, though. I think that by not suspending an instigator like Norman, they set up an environment where it's okay to goad an opposing player. And that's where Beckham went wrong - by losing his cool, and retaliating. Now they know they can use his anger against him. Just like Sonny in the Godfather. And that's where the team leaders and Coughlin failed Beckham. Someone should have intervened with him for his own good, and for the overall good of the team.
Okay. I can see that. But then we're expecting an official to evaluate degrees of a slam. Beckham better cut the crap. and learn fast that the Universe has ways of evening things out. Karma is a bitch.
You're right. It's total BS, but if Eli would have grabbed him by the face mask, and told him to cut the crap, get his head back into the game, and play football, or get out of the huddle, it would never have gotten that far. I guess Eli isn't wired that way, but somebody should have done it.
Remember, these are the Giants, they've been told how classy they are since they first walked on the field. They probably believe their own bullshit and that they are incapable of doing anything wrong.
I do think it's OK to goad an opposing player. I think it's been happening for a long time, if not since the NFL was formed. Perhaps in an ideal world of true gentlemanly sportsmanship, it shouldn't be allowed, but we haven't been in that kind of world for a long time sadly. I totally agree that Coughlin, the OC, ODB's position coach, and team leaders failed him. They should have pulled him for awhile for his own good, and used it as a learning experience. Several of his teammates and his position coach did try to talk to him, but he just blew them off and didn't listen. That's where if the Position Coach didn't have the authority to do so, the OC or Coughlin should have stepped in and sat his butt down.
I'm not so sure anything Eli or any other player would have said or done would have made any difference. Several players did talk to him. His position coach spoke with him at least 2-3 times and ODB just ignored him. He was out of control. (Roid rage?) That's where Coughlin, the O'Maras, the GM, or someone with power should have read him the riot act and told him to get his shit together or the TEAM was going to suspend his ass for the rest of the season and fine him those game checks.
That's the issue with these Giants, they are devoid of leadership. I'm not a Strahan fan but he would have punched OBJ right in the vagina on the sidelines and that would have put him out for 45 mins. He lit into Tiki, he hated preening offensive cunts. They are coming of as massively hypocritical in all the media outlets. Couldn't have happened to a shittier holier than thou organization. I'm loving it. I am shocked. True story. __
if the Giants had won last week.... knocking off the undefeated Panthers for their second win in a row while moving into a tie for 1st place in the division... there aint no way in HELL Goodell suspends him
Ok you and I disagreed on the league mandated losing conspiracy because it was impossible. But THIS I totally believe he could have maneuvered. One call from the top dog at NBC to Goodell to Thrash? Yeah, that was completely possible. _
First of all, I disagree with you. Considering all that happened, he was going to get nailed. But don't you see, there's no way they were going to win after that display. They got themselves in a hole in no small part because of his bull shit. Just because they came back after Carolina took their foot off the gas and got sloppy doesn't mean anything. 28 points is too great a deficit to overcome.
