First TD: pristine, zone-raping double-move by Decker. And the only thing better than the timing of the throw is the timing of the play call.

Second TD: Bad teams fail to capitalize on their opponents' mistakes. Decent teams capitalize, but only good teams consistently punish mistakes by getting maximum value. That was max value. Good sign.

Third TD: I watched the replay in slow-motion on TV 5 times. Not the run. Just the pass. Of course the announcers never mentioned what a sick pass this is. The window is the size of a grapefruit. Fitz is no hall-of-famer, and he had some ugly throws this game, but how many QB's in the league can even make this little throw???

(Great job, hawk. Fun to watch.)

If one freak play when the defense wasn't even on the field results in 70 yards passing and a TD, then yes, it can be taken out of the mix, or at least given as * if you're trying to get an honest evaluation of how the QB did that game based on passing stats.

That's like taking a 6 TD game out of a QBs stats for a year.

    It's arbitrary.

What if that freak play was the game winner?

Or the first play of the game to set the tone?

    Arbitrary to fit a narrative.

Definition of a freak play: "I know it when I see it".

You need to learn to cut your loses and move on :)

To finish this week off let's check out Ivory for a minute. His bread & butter run out of the I. Goes over the middle until he gets every defender sucked inside that bubble, all he needs at that point is a good block from Breno/Davis/Decker seal the edge in order to use his speed to get to the outside. These runs when the blocking works are almost all the time 10+ yard gains.

Here's a negative run from Ivory. Instead of just following his blockers over the right side he decides to cut back and go the other direction. That's an easy 3-5 yards, possibly more, he could have gotten, instead it's a loss of 3 and I'm not sure what he saw there. To be fair it was a good run blitz by the safety.
