1. Geno 2. Mo or sheldon - i dont want to pay both big money, im down for trading one 3. Davis/Harris - not thrilled with their play would love to get faster and more athletic here 4. Milliner - im done with this experiment
i think brick wants to retire with fat stacks of cash. he might restructure, but if he does it will be for a big deal that helps our short term cap, not for some hometown discount.
We can not rest on our laurels and pencil Pace in as a starter for 2016. We need to add two good outside pass rushers. If Calvin Pace can land a backup job in camp more power to him.
disagree with the colon statement. he was contributing vey well and the line before his injury was playing very well. When he went out the OL suffered and then when Mr M got hut it really imploded. Just MO
Davis can go in my book as well. Henderson is starting to pop on the screen more IMO. just seems to always be around the ball and given the chance, I think hell start making even more plays in coverage.
keep in mind that keeping somebody going into 2016 does not mean penciling them in as a starter or even assuring them a roster spot. Guys like Winters, Milliner or McDougle are of no harm to retain AT LEAST until training camp. Somebody we acquire in the meanwhile beats them out at that point so be it. Its the cap questions that need to be dealt with tout de suite. Has Cro lived up to his deal? Is our secondary in a state of disarray without him? If no, than why are we taking his 8 million on? Giacomini, is he worth the extra 3.5 mill to keep him? Can we replace him fairly easily?
Colon should say aloha. Since he's now able to get his penalties from the sidelines we don't really need him on the field.
I have an issue with the English in the OP's question, but since he meant who would you like to see leave, Smith. My question would have been which starter do you want to see no longer a starter. My answer there is Davis. But who do I want to see gone? Smith.
1,2,5,6 fully agree. You forgot the white elephant in the room... geNO ! Cut him.. I think you cut Cro then bring him back on a cheaper deal or let him go. imho he's been good in 1/2 of his games and bad in 1/2 so he's not worth top starter money but worth keeping around until they're sure one of Williams, Milliner, McDougle is ready and one of them just may be ready. They need to transition the O line. I'd focus on replacing Winters and Giacomi this year. I don't know what Colon has left in the tank but I think they can sign him as a UFA for one more year and draft his replacement. Giaco will cost around $1.8mm in dead money but he has to go, he's god awful. Pace is near the end line but if he agrees to come back on a veteran friendly deal for one more year I'd keep him as depth. Jeff Cumberland at $1.9mm is a waste. Dump his ass the day after the season ends.
He doesn't fit what Gailey wants to do. Gailey likes big receivers who are interchangeable. Basically, they all do or can do the same thing. Kerley has little value with Decker playing the slot. He's a nice slot receiver. But I just don't think he fits this team anymore.
Winters - Total pansy and non contributor. A turnstile with no guts Milliner- Injury plagued and just doesn't have the smarts. I so wanted Kenny Vaccaro there. eh. oh well Cumberland - Time for Amaro to finally step up and make Cumby redundant. Colon - 50/50 on. Wish
He was playing average at best in my opinion. Although he's a big upgrade from Winters. Who is just awful. The line needs a total makeover in my opinion. I'd consider moving Brick to RT and replacing Breno and trying to find another guard to pair on the inside with Carpenter and Mangold.
The problem as someone else mentioned is that LT's are hard to find and don't come cheap. I think they need to fix the right side first then after more holes are filled you package picks possibly in '17 draft to move up for a franchise LT. Mac needs this off-season FA period and draft to solidify depth and fill holes to help complete the transition to a sustainable good team. You can't be packaging '16 picks for a LT when this team still needs work. The need for a young franchise QB supersedes the need for a LT but based on what Fitz has done this year, they can extend him 2-3 years and make the young QB the final piece. If they're very lucky maybe Petty is that guy and already on the roster.
