It's hard to believe that we are currently 8-5 coming off one of the worst seasons we've seen in recent memory.

What's even harder to believe is that in just one off season, a team that had an anemic offense now has:

Brandon Marshall - 89 catches, 1187 yards, and 11 TD
Eric Decker - 66 catches, 875 yards, and 9 TD

Chris Ivory - 217 carries, 914 yards, and 7 TD

It's also hard to believe that after dealing with Geno Smith we now have:

    Ryan Fitzpatrick - 3129 yards, 25 TD, 11 INT, and 89.8 rating

A lot of thank you to Magic Mike, and a whole lot of thank you to Todd Bowles. We still got a ways to go and we are only approaching one year, but damn this feels good.

Edit: and a HUGE thank you to Chan Gailey!

Agreed! Too bad the haters just won't give up any props to this team for any reason. Oh well, they can just sulk in the corner while the rest of us enjoy one helluva comeback season! No matter what happens playoff wise, we're a quantum leap over 2014 and if that's not good enough for some folks, f'k em.

I really hope we give Fitzy one more year. Hopefully Petty is learning week by week, but I don't think he'll be ready next year. And Geno needs to be traded/released so he can find a team where he has an opportunity.

I'm not giving up on this year, but running the table is tough, and it looks like the Chiefs and Steelers might both do it.

10-6 is a very successful year for a rookie HC and GM. And this O with another year of chemistry with a few other pieces? I'm excited.

Thanks Buffalo! You keep Rex. We'll take Chan and Fitzy.

Imagine if we hadn't had that 4 game stretch of suck.

This team is fun to watch, play-offs or not, it's been a good year for Jets football. Let's hope we can build on this years success.

i dont think its very hard to believe at all. we had 50 million to spend and a top 6 pick. add in that this is one of the weakest years in the NFL in recent history with so many awful teams and big injuries to qbs and i dont think its suprising we have improved record wise and aquired talent.

i think bowles has been solid his rookie year. as far as mac, i cant really judge him so far, as i dont really think he has done much other then spend boatloads of money and use high draft picks. he did a good job with who he got, but really he hasnt hit any of the many challenging things coming up

what does he do at left tackle?

what does he do with mo and shelly?

what does he do at qb/in the draft?

how does he turn over a team who has such an old core when it comes to its best players?

to me, those are what will make or break him

Whats hard to believe, and what hurts to believe is that this team has a good shot of going 10-6 and missing the playoffs

Ah, another glass half empty fan. The rest of us still love you. :) So, what about the fact that Mac cleaned out the scouting dept. Or the fact that while being obligated to spend all the money he did, he was able to sign talent that melded well with each other and the CS. I for one have good confidence, based on his track record to date, that he will handle the issues you list, in an efficient manner. Glass half full here :)

the stat that continues to mind fuck me...

    3 players with 1000+ yards & 10(+) TDs.

I don't think that's an every year thing for most teams..

    NY Jets??? yeah right!! haha

Turnaround this year has been good. But let's not forget we still have a rookie GM and rookie HC. They are learning things on the run. Especially with Bowles, it was obvious during the 4-5 game stretch. But the signal has been positive. Let's hope this is the start of a new era with a smart GM and a smart HC.

Season is not over... This will be the most important 3 weeks for the Jets in a very long time.

    This.

We've been at this point before, most recently 2011, lest we all forget. This season and Mac/Bowles will be judged on how we finish. Although for tie-breaker purposes, game vs Cowboys is not as significant as NE & Buf, we CANT lose it, or we'll begin to hear the SOJ refrain.

Bowles seems like an even keel guy, which I think is good. The team has to finish strong, otherwise the last three wins against weak sister teams, and all the stats we piled up, are meaningless.

So, I'm holding back on all praise for now.

there is nothing glass half empty/full about what i said. it is more putting into perspective what Mac has done and what lies ahead of him. I never said I wasnt confident in his ability to make the right moves with the many difficult decisions he will have to make.

Mac cleaning out our scouting department, encouraging, but until we see a few more drafts, we really wont be able to tell how the new guys put in place are doing.

As far as his signings and trades, They look ok now, hard to say how they look next season and the one after. Marshall is a homerun if he stays around, but if he doesnt then its just a good trade and not a great one. alot of the guys we brought in who were high priced are also older, and/or not likely to stay around very long. if we fail to make the playoffs this year, and those guys arent brought back, then how successful of signings where they?

Mac certainly didnt bomb, but it is really hard to spend 50 million and NOT improve a 4 win team.

INCOMPLETE, thats the grade i have to give mac. it isnt saying i dont think he can get an A+, he just hasnt really hit the period when he will face some tough choices.

its easy tog et caught up in this seaosn, as we all should.... but we have some REALLY tough calls coming up. and we currently dont have many in house solutions for.

Mo's contract and Left Tackle are MAJOR things we need to address soon

What's even worse is we could run the table, be 11-5 and miss the playoffs

But I'm enjoying every second of it

I thought the same thing. But upon further reflection, we should not of lost the Raiders of Bills games, turns out its whats gonna bite us in the ass in the end.

Hard to believe the lack of attendance at the game yesterday considering everything. Just embarrassing people.

8-5 is great, but let's not forget 2008 and 2011, both seasons the Jets were 8-5 and primed for a playoff push, and they lost out to go .500. I keep trying to think that it won't happen, but the possibility is always looming there. Pittsburgh looks really good, and so do the Chiefs. I think the Jets will need to be 10-6 to get in, which means 2-1 to close out the season. With Cowboys, Patriots and Bills, this is a very distinct possibility. It's exciting but I'm not planning the parade just yet.

If it doesn't matter, then I say you need an attitude adjustment. If you can't find joy in a 6-win improvement, the best offense we've had in forever, can't celebrate Fitz', Marshall's and Decker's play, see reasons to have hope and belief in where the team is headed, then you're too cynical and negative for words.
