TGG, I don't think you understand how I feel right now. I am sulking in my computer chair, just so upset. The Jets were ROBBED of tying this game against the Browns today.

I don't understand why the umps did not review that play. I think in everyones minds, Jets fans and others, thought that Chris Baker was going to just fall into the endzone after he made the catch. If you look at the replay, his body is falling down, meaning his left leg would have been inbounds as was his right, but then a Browns player knocked him right out of bounds. He forced him out.

It's disgusting in my opinion that the umps did not review the play. Especially when Mangini kept going up to them, asking them why they weren't going to review it.

HOWEVER, let's not forget that this game wasn't not won just because of the Baker play. Throughout the whole game, the Jets Offense and Defense did not do it's job. The defense let Droughns run all over them. The offense, especially Chad, was not point today like they have all season. Even the play calling by Schotti and Mangini were not good. I think it's safe to say that that the infamous "3rd down play with Brad Smith taking the snap and then he either runs it or hands it off" didn't fool the Browns the 1st time they did it.

A lot of things happened with the Jets that didn't get them the W at the end of the game. But I do still feel that the Jets were robbed at tying this game because of the no-review by the umps, which still will piss me off. A win is a win, even if you don't do good the whole entire game.

Man, what a horrible way for the game to end as it was great in the 4th quarter. It's like there really are Zebras calling the game.

Its not reviewable. You cannot review judgement calls.

The reason they didn't review the play was because you can't review a forceout. everyone knows this

It should have been called a TD just to be safe. Clearly he would have came down with the damn thing. Given he still had a yard of room at his dispense. If he could've made that unbelievable catch, he could've came down with the damn ball. We have all seen way more FREAKER catchs from some of the NFL pros around the league. It should have been called a TD, then it would've been reviewable. If he truely did'nt look like he would've came down with it, then they could've changed it. It would'nt have happened though. I am tired of the damn refs determining the outcome of games, expecially when it is clearly a BS call. I have never EVER been so inraged about a call in my life. EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Damn I am so mad!

You're absolutely correct, Future. The Jets did get robbed on the final play, but the fact of the matter is that everybody from the coaching staff on down failed until the waning moments of the game. If the defense had shown any ability to stop the run until midway through the 3rd quarter, or if the offense had shown any ability to move the ball until around the same point, or if the coaching staff had shown any willingness to mix it up (I think that we all shuddered when Mangini/Schottenheimer called the 3rd and 12 draw play) then we wouldn't have needed a circus catch at the end to win the game.

You said it, but I really dont care about how they played. The Jets put themselves in a situation to win at the end and the refs took it away from them. Yes, had the Jets won it wouldnt have been anything to brag about, but who cares. The next week all we would see it as is a W anyway.

Calling it a touchdown wouldn't have been reviewable either. They have to rule a forceout on the field, and if they did that it isn't reviewable the other way either.

It should have been called a touchdown because it was a touchdown, but it didn't have an affect on whether they could review it.

You know I don't need people to remind me that a force out is not reviewable. I am shocked that they didn't review the play, because it is a stupid idiotic rule. Not to review a play that determines the outcome under any circumstances is just stupid. I mean what the f**k is instant replay for anyway but to get plays right, especially ones that determine the outcome of the game.

If it had been called a TD, then it could be reviewed upstairs. Correct?

No, because it would have been ruled a force out, and you can't overturn that. The only review would have been for if he had possession, which he did, so it would be a pointless review. You can't review for whether it was a force out or not though either way. If we had gotten the call on the field, it couldn't possibly be overturned.

What's the point of watching these games when you know that sooner or later some ref is going to "screwup" and determine the outcome? If the refs do not want you to win, you are not going to win. It's as simple as that.
