It's that really the metric you're looking at? Can you please at least compare the first seasons? Because they couldn't be more different.
We definatly got the wrong Seahawk last year. Tate as a Jet would of been awesome! Couple his YAC ability with Marshalls physicality, Fitzs smarts and short range accuracy.........I think we'd have the undisputed, best 1-2 WR combo this year.
The kick of it is that we could have had all three. Tate at the time had zero offers and the Jets were front runners. We had money left and Tate wanted something relatively modest. His final contract was 31 mil over 5, so about 6 mil per. They HAD that money to burn in spades, and a a completely depleted WR corp; even after the Decker signing. Instead, the money was spent on junk guys that barely/didn't play like Dimitri Patterson, Mike Goodson etc. To then decide midseason that they needed another WR and go get Harvin and his stupid ass contract was only adding insult to injury.
I want him to be right so I'm not going to argue further, just think it's crazy to make conclusions right now. It's an old team that could look very different next year. Macc gets pts for beating the Giants something Turdway and Tannenbaum couldn't do.
I like Macc and the job he's done so far, but the jury HAS to still be out on him. Dropping $100M in 6 days on top FAs is child's play. Continuing to build the roster and resign his own home grown talent when there ISN'T $100M laying around will be far more telling. Just hope Macc can keep the show on the road for the next 3-4 yrs!
If I can be like all Zen about the situation... Something is fucking working. Who's our defensive coordinator again?

Well I think the Jets probably overpaid for Revis a bit but that's essentially what free agency is, and the Jets were in a unique position in that they had to spend all that money. I would also say that Revis does a lot in terms of pushing us towards a Superbowl for a couple reasons. NFL players are streaky, it's just the nature of the game. Those games that had everyone questioning Revis also displayed poor overall performances from the rest of the team, which has been on a hot streak since Revis has been missing games. Don't quote me but I'm pretty sure going into week 13 Revis was still the league leader in turnovers despite missing the week before, and I have a feeling a lot of these Revis questions would have been quelled if he had been on the field these past two weeks. I have a strong feeling Revis will make his presence known a number of times before the season is through. Besides, a lot of the Revis signing does have to do with the fans. I believe Woody Johnson saw how quickly the fans turned on the Idzik organization when they perceived it as not properly trying to stock talent. Bringing back Revis brought a lot of good feelings, and guaranteed to make the fans patience with the new regime a bit more realistic. The players need the fans support, and when people are booing at home games after the first incomplete pass, it's not doing the players any favors. There are so many factors that go into what made paying Revis so worthwhile beyond his impact on a play to play basis. -He is a complete pro and role model for younger players. -He has star power and can shoulder the burden of media. -Our gain is a guaranteed loss of an elite player to our biggest division opponent. (Never why you sign someone, but luring him away from their roster was worth the extra cost. Does anyone want to imagine a New England secondary with McCourty, Revis, and Butler after his year of improvement?)
Ha well working constantly and a girlfriend takes up just about all of the time I have, so it's difficult to get on here these days. Also that's actually Jason Taylor in my avatar lol, you guys may have already known that though
Always refreshing to read your posts, always disappointing when there's a huge gap between them. Always annoying to look at that fucking avatar.
No unlike most of you there are some of us who understand it only been 12 games into Mac career as a GM for the Jets. I like the moves Mac has made so far but we all know that opinion of him and Bowles can change in a New York minute. Don't believe me come on here and see if the Jets lose Sunday.
