I think we would know exactly how to use him, to replace Kerley and Powell. It will be a hybrid version of Adelman, with more running the slot, and as a punt returner we so desperately need.
I had a feeling someone was going to bring up the Oregon State play, because that's the only time he really makes a guy miss in the video. As for breaking the arm tackle, I think you answered your question for me there. I'm not saying he's not elusive, I'm saying that video doesn't exactly showcase it if he is.
OK, I can see now that that's what you meant, but that's not what it looked like. I don't understand what about Toby Gerhart's draft projection history makes you think the same will be true with McCaffery though. What are you saying that makes you link the two?
Gerhart was drafted where he was based on his college game and not what he could potentially do in the pros. He had a Heisman caliber year and it shot him up about 3 rounds from where he should've been drafted. I think the same thing happens with McCaffery being considered a borderline 1st rounder compared to where I think he should be taken (mid 3rd or so) For the record I think McCaffery will be a better pro than Gerhart was/is. But won't be worth his draft value. He'll be Dexter McCluster. Another "do it all" type runner that was overdrated
I saw the kid in High School...... I live in Colorado an hour and a half from his high school...... His Dad is former Pro Ed Mcaffery...... Christian is a big deal around here as is his dad..... But I'm telling you, Christian has a younger brothers and he may end up being every bit a good as Christian....... Remember the name Dylan Mccaffery
He would definitely be the answer to the JETS special teams needs and be a great third down back/slot receiver.
Dude's ridiculous. It's a travesty he didn't win the Heisman. He's single handedly taking over the Rose Bowl...
He has a lot more durability and strength than McCluster does though. I think people are faintly talking him down because he plays like a Danny Woodhead, when in all actuality he has the body type to be a feature NFL back at 200 pounds with the frame to put on 15 pounds. New England is going to do absolutely everything they can to get this guy IMO. They'd be pretty dumb not to as he's perfect for what they do. They never trade up but I could see Belichick giving up a ton of picks to get him.
In a pro system like New England's he could thrive. Not sure how hard they would go after him though unless he falls in their laps. James White and Dion Lewis before him pretty much do what Vereen did when he was there. He fits their mold but the role he would play doesn't seem like its opening up anytime soon. Teams like Denver and Carolina would benefit most from someone of his mold IMO
All this talk of getting QBs on TGG is mind boggling. Petty next man up Mccaffery his back up. Sounds like a plan to me.
