People remember who won against the other - everything else is just details. The Jets are the team of NY right now , and that's the most important thing for this franchise next to winning the SB.
They have more fans, not alot more fans. Their fans are overrated, early leavers, and not as passionate as they are made out to be. They also have a big bandwagon. Jets have an unflappable hardcore following that I would take anyday over Giants fans.
The Giants are an older franchise and have predominately been a winner..that will always give a team more fans. Even if a good number of em are bandwagoners. Its clear in away games that Giants have more "rooters" than the Jets do. This is public knowledge.
they only have more fans because they've been around for almost 50 more years. you'd have to be real shitty as a franchise to have less fans than a team that came along half a century later. besides, as you mentioned, a good chunk of their current fans are bandwagoners who only came along after their recent SB run. that slice of the pie will go either way, depending on who's doing better at the moment. during 2009-2010 , the Jets owned the town and had those bandwagoners on their side.
that's my point. take out the bandwagoners, and the giants have maybe slightly more fans than the jets. for a team that's nearly 50 years older, they better have a slight lead or else they've done something terribly wrong as a franchise.
are you serious? you must live on long island or something. every single area in new york, ct, north jersey has giants fans as the predominant team. you look at a graphic of what team has the most fans in what area and the jets have NO FUCKING AREA, NONE its beyond just a few, shit when there used to be waiting lists at giants stadium the jets had a what 8 to 10 year waiting list and the giants had a 30 year waiting list. its beyond me that you actually think the jets have as many fans as the giants. its just not the case.
even if you look at silly things like how many people on facebook claim each team, the giants have 3.8 million people. the jets 1.8 its not even close.
