Someone go steal OBJ's gloves, that will bring his receptions right down. Still don't understand why they don't allow stickum but they can wear gloves that are like having suction cups on their hands.
I don't know why people are getting on Walls. He was pretty decent last week considering he'd been on the bench most of the season.
I forget the guy we put on Tim Brown one day--was a second or third year player and was generally terrible but for some reason whomever was the coach decided it was a good idea to put him out on an island with Tim Fucking Brown. I think Brown had about 200 yards that day. Putting Dee on OBJ will have the same result. _
Is there that much shame in double covering one of the best playmakers in the league? It's not so much who does it as important as it is that it's done right. Bracket coverage with a corner underneath (which Cro would be great for except he can't press) who can press and turn his hips and run, and Gilchrist over the top with the task of not letting him behind him. It takes away from our blitz schemes but it limits 61 yard touchdowns like the one to Hopkins that can take the wind out of the sail of a team on the road even though this isn't a true road game.
The biggest knock on him was probably how bad his hips are since in Nick Saban's defense at Alabama he was always moved forward because of playing off coverage, thus jumping up on routes. He really seemed to embody more of a cover 2 corner than anything. Y'all are welcome to correct me if I'm wrong.
Really worried about OBJ this week. 2 things we need to do: 1. The entire Dline and Passrush needs to help out with this, we need to ensure Manning is rushed all day which will limit his ability to throw. If we rattle him a couple of times early he will want to get rid of the ball quickly and won't have time to set himself for longer big play throws to OBJ. 2. Double team him with one of the safeties. Even if he makes the catch, make sure Pryor or Gilchrist is there to hit him hard right away so he doesn't get many YAC.
I think Skrine would be the best bet tbh. He's the most fluid & fast DB be have. And probably the most athletic. I honestly think it wouldn't be a bad move. But obviously they will go by committee on Sunday. Double coverage. This guy. That guy. But Skrine would have the best chance.
Millner? Sorry man - he might not even be active. Our best chance is Williams and doubling him with Gilchrist. Doesn't look like Revis is playing.
2009-2011 Revis would make ODB a non entity. This year's Revis would watch him catch 60 yards underneath and could give up a 70 yard reception, but I'd guess not. I'm guessing it doesn't matter, and ODB has 170yds receiving, a TD and a TD drop while Cro is covering him.
When Milliner was at Bama he shut down ODB at LSU. lol Ps plz don't put Dee on Beckham Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Why can't they play zone with at least safeties dropping back? Let's see if the Giants running game is good enough to punish the Jets secondary for playing safe.
http://www.nydailynews.com/archives/sports/jets-vance-learns-burn-article-1.710538 That game was a fucking nightmare to watch. I remember being so pissed that somebody who never played CB was on an island consistently with Tim Fucking Brown who was freakishly fast and an amazing deep threat.
What we really need to do is put up a toll booth. #25 needs to knock the shoulder pads off his body the first couple of catches. That's probably the best way to slow him down.
