Not sure if this was said, but how in the world was that NOT an interception by Cro today? He maintained full control of the ball. Why even have instant replay if the calls won't be called correctly? The Jets were blowing Miami out, so it didn't ultimately matter, but that could have been really costly if it was a close game.
It was a clear INT but I guess the refs had pity on Tannehill to not rule that an INT. Shows the power of the original call on the field, refs are too afraid to overturn what was called on the field.
Definitely should have been an INT, and it was the best play he's made all season. The replay looked even more impressive, it was the textbook way you establish possession on a pick. Total robbery.
Are these shit calls by the refs, particularly after instant replay, reviewed by the NFL and make these dick heads accountable for their fuck ups?
Is it just me or does Cro play better when Revis is out? I've noticed each time Revis doesn't play cro steps his game up and looks like an actual corner instead of a bum
More importantly, Cromartie had a good game today despite the call. Seems he plays better when Revis is not on the same field.
I hate the rule of if there is any doubt, you just go with what was originally called. Total horse shit. The review gives them a much better view on the play, and what was called on the field should have no impact on the final call.
But I don't get how there was ANY doubt on that play. Cro clearly maintained possession. Not sure how much more he could have done there.
Cromartie just plays better when he's not in press coverage on an island. He can't press worth shit. I said it in a couple threads earlier in the season. Keep him in an underneath coverage with help over the top and tell him to jump anything underneath. He has great ball skills, but terrible technique when covering a receiver deep. He can be a valuable asset moving forward if he's used correctly. He's great at moving forward on routes but horrible on switching his hips to run with a receiver.
This is why I laughed at anyone whining about the college replacements a few years ago. NFL officiating has always been terrible; for whatever reason it just isn't being apologized for.
I can see where they thought the ball possibly slipped through and made contact with the ground. If it was called on the field as an INT it would not have been overturned either. Pretty happy with cro playing his best game of the season.
Cro had a good game? Yeah, if you turned off the TV with 15 seconds left in the game. He has no business starting in the NFL at this point but unfortunately we're married to him at list for the rest of the season.
Totally agree that upon review the play looked even more impressive. I wonder, if it's "even close" refs don't want to reverse it and save some kind of face. My guess, if they would have ruled INT on the field, upon review, that would have stood as well.
Why do they even have instant replay if they just revert back to the play called on the field. Its a joke and it pisses me off every week. That was an interception, clear as day. The "play stands" as called garbage is the dumbest thing ever. What the officials called on the field shouldn't mean jack shit! thats what we have instant replay FOR. They take 15 minutes, look at 97 angles, hash it over, only to stick with the WRONG call they made on the field? In what world does this make sense? All the technology in the world to make the correct calls, no problem ruining the game by taking forever to decide.... why not at least get the calls right?! why should the call they made on the field even matter??!! the whole replay system is garbage
This - and have Cro cover the #1 WR with the safety help. Move Revis to cover the #2 WR. Pats did a lot of this last year.
