theres a couple things about being patient...

your kr and pr both dont seem to give a shit. one running out of bounds consistently, the other jogging with the ball. fix it. its not hard to fix. all i want is someone who wants to make a play out there at those 2 positions.

you played a defense with 9 guys in the box yesterday, both safeties were rolled up next to the de, 3 lbs were 4 yards off and 2 corners were playing man coverage. who does that? there was not one single defender more than 4 yards off hte line of scrimmage.

then out of that front you dont blitz? what in the fuck is going on here? oh a 61 yard td thats whats going on here.

you have a very good pass rusher and a fairly weak pass protector, but you put him out on an island for most of the game, watch him get beat badly completely fucking up the offense and making it impossible for your wrs to beat their 3rd string and 4th string cbs. you see this happen, time and time again but you dont make an adjustment and fix it?

demario davis is just not a good nfl linebacker. he should never be in there on anything that might be considered a passing down.

Without Nick Mangold the Jets offense doesn't function at this point. They'd have been 13 points and out this game if Fitzpatrick was sane and doesn't go charging into the pack and not sliding 3 times on one drive with a surgical left thumb, maybe 10 points if he just throws it away on the first scramble.

Fitzpatrick may not be good enough to win games but nobody wants to win them more than he does.

Compare that to what we've had at QB since Chad left.

Exactly, based on our QB roster, I'll take Fitzpatrick and his heart for the game any day of the week.

absolutely, i really thought he would provide that spark with his great attitude and tough hard nose play. it didnt happen though which says more about his teammates than it does him.

Doesn't matter how bad we want him in the bench in favor of Lattimore or Henderson, Bowles's not going to do it, just like with Cromartie and Calvin Pace which pisses the fuck out of me.

He wants to win. I get it, hes a gutsy player. But as you mentioned not sane enough to know he can put the whole team at risk with his reckless play

He's also not talented enough to overcome his own mistakes and those of his team mates. If the Jets really were set almost everywhere else I have no doubt at all that they could win a Super Bowl with Fitzpatrick at QB. Unfortunately there are some cracks on both sides of the ball at this point and Fitzpatrick is never going to take over a game and smooth those over. It's no fault of his, there are only a few guys in the NFL who can do that reliably.

Part of the magic this year was Fitzpatrick, Ivory, Marshall and Decker all playing over their heads at the same time, with Fitzpatrick elevating the most over his norm. Now part of the misery is everybody coming back to earth at the same time and all Fitzpatrick can do is put his body on the line and hope that makes the difference. He's done this a bunch of times this year and sometimes it has been enough to make the difference and sometimes it hasn't.

I am not miserable. I was pleasantly surprised early on. Things have gotten a little shoddy lately. I am not sure everyone is playing hard. And Bowles has taken a few lumps but he is not going to stand there and make incredible statements that have no meaning like "This is all on me." He is no-nonsense. I just suspect some of his players are nonsense and it is too late in the season to do much about it.

That's another reason why we need young players who have thirst for winning, new blood with hunger, that's what we need!

maybe I am wrong, but i remember Bowles as a heady player. I think he likes guys that use their heads. Now I think Pace just stayed a year too long, but guys like Cro and DD do not play with their heads. Coples did not work out. Bowles inherited a non Linebacker who started at linebacker. No matter what anyone says to me I think Revis is limited by health. I believe his early season hamstring woes linger. He is getting beat right off the dime by guys. He has far less quickness. I believe Pryor has missed 3 and a half or 4 games and he has been a key component. Plus Skrine is hurt. He hurt his shoulder a few games ago. I have not seen him doing a lot of different things out there. Guy was a deadly blitzer rely on. Yesterday he threw his shoulder into a receiver and bounced off like a rubber ball. While they were very aggressive and pressured the pass early, teams have adjusted to them I don't think Bowles really has the pieces he would prefer on D right now. The film has caught up with him. And not to excuse him by any means: he also has to develop his own game management skills.

One of the things about the Jets is that they're one of the few teams in the NFL that really isn't focused on the QB. The key player in the Jets offense is Nick Mangold. That's because he's the best player there and he represents the continuity over the years and he's a big part of the offensive adjustments in the trenches. When he's in there the Jets have a chance against most teams and when he's not they don't. He's the guy I'm watching at this point because as Mangold goes so will the Jets over the last 6 games.

I started being a fan as a kid in 1964. I went to a game with the church Mens's Lyceum Club and I was immediately hooked.
Hoping for 1 SuperBowl before I take my final nap. It has been a hell of a drought, but I have no regrets being a fan. But it has been frustrating to see the same mistakes take place over and over by team management and ownership. We have not had a franchise QB since Joe Willy and we certainly have been a revolving door for some bad coaching and QB's Also have spent a boatload of money on players on the downside of careers. I truly felt Parcels started to right the ship, but even he took a few steps back after a season of promise when a retread QB tears his Achilles on opening day.

With the team we have, there is NO excuse to losing to the three shit tier teams we lost to, nor should we really have lost to Oakland.
