I wanted Cooper just as badly as anyone but it's ridiculous to complain about hypothetically passing on Cooper. There was a very slim chance we'd get one of the top 3 players in the draft and in about 3 years I'd be surprised if it turns out Cooper is the better player. Williams is going to be crazy good on this D-line for years to come.

I think it came out after the draft that Mac would have taken Cooper if available.

lol... i don't get this thread .. Cooper wasn't available, Leo was. There's really no other way around that lol.

but if we're gonna play that game Mariota would be running this offense like a BOSS right now.

and Cooper would be a straight up DOG in our offense as a slot.. good god.

You say Cooper was a new breed of WR, best ever, and many experts (including you) had him falling (at least) to the Jets a #6. That's a long way to fall for the 'best WR ever'.

Maybe your draft analysis was more wishful thinking than analysis!

Amari Cooper would have been great for Jets, but I don't know why you didn't except the Raiders to take him. I all but expected Amari to announce the pick himself.

The one that SHOCKED me was Washington taking Scherff and not Leonard Williams. I was over the moon.

I knew Raiders were taking Cooper. They have become a smart team. They were out to get their franchise QB a franchise WR. I was screaming for us to draft White at that point but calmed down afterwards and realized it was the right pick to take williams with him being ranked as the best player in the draft on a lot of boards. The value was there and felt like we had to take him at that point.

He will just take a couple years to show his true star talent. Allows us to trade Mo or Sheldon. I wasn't a fan of doing that till I have seen how they have worked together. They haven't impressed me. Still have a half of the season to go but if this Dline isn't going to destroy offensive lines and wreck havoc then it's not worth putting a boat load of money into all three guys for the future. If Mo wants 15+ million a year then he's got to go. He simply isn't worth that money considering the impact plays he doesn't make.
