It was the pileup on top of the referee who ended up with I believe a bloodied up and broken nose. Baker did commit some late hits, but there should've been offsetting unnecessary roughness calls on both sides.
Baker absolutely crushed a Lions DB on that play, and truth be told, it was kind of late. A video of that pileup with the ref. was up on Youtube before some idiot lawyer who works for the NFL had the video pulled for "copyright infringement." TBTF
Oh yeah Baker sent that dude flying. He totally crushed him and there was no doubt it was a late hit.
he was lucky he didnt get tossed. he jumped on the pile well after the whistle blew. i was shocked they let him stay after they showed the umpire underneath everyone!
In the post game interview he talked about it and said that he was expecting the flag to come out but he also though it would be offsetting. He said the play was clearly over and the lions players were still taking shots at leon and he couldnt let that happen to a teamate and thats why he did. I like the whole family type relationship on the team.
i was sitting right there whistle was at the same time as the hit...still a cheap shot, but not a late hit. "you Play To the whistle"
