Colin Kapernick. He's gone from the 49ers and he can be had for a # 4 or 5 in my opinion. Terrible offensive line, no weapons and awful coaching make it look this guy is done so we can get this young talented veteran and with our talent and coaching make him a star again. Its worth a try. That's my call bitches. Bring it on
I'll 1 up you. Ryan Fitzpatrick with Petty and Paxton Lynch (Memphis) in the background. The 2017 QB will be the winner of a competition between those 2.
Much of what happens QB wise is predicated on how far Fitz takes us this year. If we are playoff bound, and Petty continues to improve, and considered a solid back up in 2016 , the FO might stand pat ( God, I hate the term pat) If confidence in Fitz erodes, then who knows, we might look at Geno versus Colin in camp. That would be an interesting challenge.
This is the only logical answer. Only difference is i think the coaches will be leaning towards Bryce to be their guy like they were with Geno until the IK shit. 1. Petty 2. Fitz 3. Geno They all know the system and the players in the locker room.. Bryce and Geno are still young, so save a draft pick on another QB we don't need another one unless we trade Geno : (
"let's trade mo for him" http://forums.theganggreen.com/threads/colin-kaepernick-a-nyj.84372/ No. Next year QB 1. Fitz Geno Petty
Awesome, another year of below-average QB play. That's ok, we don't have to win a Super Bowl next year, right?
I don't see how thats an option based on your first rd grade for paxton. If fitz leads us to the playoffs he will return next year and they probably don't go qb in the first. If they do go qb in the first its likely that the qb situation spiraled this year, in which case fitz is probably not coming back. So Fitz Geno Petty Or Rd1 qb Geno Petty Would be the logical choices imo
I can definitely see them making the playoffs and still going QB in the first. They know Fitz isn't here for more than a year and 2, even if he wins a playoff game. You never pass up on a good QB to develop, a 1st round QB has a better chance at panning out than a late round one.
If we are picking 25th which means we were one and done in the p.o. i can see ol, olb being considered higher priorities with the roster we have now. I don't know if they use the first rd pick on someone who won't contribute while the window seems at its most open.
I somewhat agree, but I think it depends on how things play out. A long term solution at QB is priority number 1 for every team in the NFL, if they have a guy in their lap in the first who they think can be the answer I don't see them passing on him for any position, regardless if they just made the playoffs.
Fitzpatrick again. While there are better QBS, we just don't have a better option. Hopefully Petty slides into the #2 slot. Like it or not, this is a win now team. The core is aging, and the talent is there. They remind me of the 1st year with Sanchez so much...Fitz might have taken them to the superbow.
I'm sure Geno and Petty will still be around. The question is if Fitz will still be here. He seems relatively durable so I can't see why not but hopefully we can get an upgrade, it's just really hard to get an upgrade at that spot. Anyone expecting anything other than a journeyman guy is sorely mistaken though.
