I will be in the Columbia, Md area Nov 12 for the Pats game. I need to start planning now. If somebody could recommend a decent sports bar in that area it would be greatly appreciated.
I live in DC and got tired of finding a good sports bar to watch Jets games. I had to bite the bullet and order DirecTV with Season Ticket.
Wise choice, I have Sunday Ticket as well. I can't believe I have to be out of town for the pats game. Poor planning on my part..
I live near Columbia, but I don't go out around there, but I know some people who do, so I'll ask them and get back to you.
I'm in Alexandria and DirecTV is the only way to enjoy the game. On the Jets site they list this DC bar as Jets friendly: 51st State Tavern 2512 L Street, NW (near Foggy Bottom Metro)
Bump.. Couple days away.. I'm looking for a bar as close to Columbia, Md as possible. Any of you guys know if it is the national game in the DC/Baltimore area??
Not a chance since I believe both the Skins and Ravens play at 1pm. There aren't many, if any, "Jets" bars in the DC area. I typically head to Bethesda, MD (I live in Rockville so it's not too far for me) to watch the game at a place called Caddies. Maybe 1-2 Jets fans there. Another place in Bethesda is Willie and Reeds but they once didn't have the game on so I've never been back. There is another place called Chatters that had a few Jets fans but the TVs and service sucked so much that I wouldn't go back there again. Plus the way they had it set up you had to sit in a specific area to watch most games so if you went with any fans of any other teams you might not be able to sit in the same place and because of which TVs the games were on. Mr Days in Arlington had a few Jets fans too. I've also watched a game or two at Hooters but when the Skins play they pretty much have every TV on that game though the first time I went there were two Mgrs in training who were from Long Island so one got the game on for me. Not too familiar with Columbia or Baltimore but any sports bar should have the game and maybe a couple of fans too.
Thanks MDBigDog.. I am officially screwed, only chance left is to come up with an excuse.. Ahhhh f*cking kids birthday parties on a Sunday..
Cant you find one those big sports restaurants like Damons that plays all of the games? You can go into DC and go to the ESPN Zone restaurant place.
Exactly. The ESPN zone is a block away from the Fords Theater, where Lincoln was shot. Get to the zone early & get a table and you can watch any game you like. Then do the Ford Theater tour afterwards. It's free and they run it up until 5 PM. Jets game ends around 4.
Rockville/Bethesda isn't too far from Columbia and in Baltimore I'm sure if you hit one of the big places like ESPN Zone or Jillians, even Dave & Busters. They should all have the game. Here's some more info for you: There's a sports bar ini Columbia called The Green Turtle (8872 McGaw Road, Suite C) - http://thegreeneturtle.com/columbia/ Also a place called the Columbia Ale House (8775 Cloudleap Ct) - http://www.columbiaalehouse.com/ If those don't work there's also this...
