Yes, but he essentially told a bunch of jags to focus solely on protecting the quarterback, which simplifies things quite a bit. Not to mention, they played about 90% of the game going no-huddle out of the shotgun. Clearly, the game plan was to make it as easy as possible on a weak offensive line by limiting substitutions and, oh by the way, putting the game in the hands of their best player currently on a tear.

Not sure how much genius that takes, though. This eagerness to pin the "genius" label on the guy has a tendency to spin wildly out of control. If Blount ran 15 times for 75 yards behind those five potato sacks, I'm confident we'd hear how his "genius" was that he knew he needed a credible run game and *somehow* figured out how to make it happen. Think I'm joking? Isn't that the exact story that put Jonas Gray on the front page of Sports Illustrated a year or so ago?

your obsession with following my post is a little disturbing to say the least. You don't like ignore me.
I call it like I see em.The pats are a bunch of hypocritical cheating ass holes to act holier then though when you players have been caught selling drugs, stealing playbooks from the visitors locker room and hotels, to spygate and murder is not pushing the boundaries at all. It is all acceptable.
Where do you draw the line?
I mean the below is absolutely a clean play by the cheators. I mean dragging the center down is absolutely not dirty in the least bit. The funnier part is the guy who dragged down mangold is prying after this. F that you caused the injury then you are going to pray for his recovery?

    Proving. My. Point!

Thanks for making it easy. What in that picture is illegal exactly? You cried about it in the game thread, and not a single person agreed with you. I am starting to think you might just be trolling... no one could be this obtuse.

Defensive genius, who goes for it on 4th and 5 at his own 28 mid game. And for all of his genius, he does not have a good D and has not had a great one in years. He is a winner. That is what I will say. Leave the genius stuff to atom splitters

We COULD have won this game. (Not should've) For all the Belichek mystical mind maneuvering, usual Patriot bull-shit and and typical Jet fuck ups, we still could've had a chance to fling a Hail Mary on the last play if Marshall doesn't move. Some things we did well, some things we didn't. I will say that Brady played a great game, certainly better than his usual game against Rex.

f you the defensive lineman is pulling the center down by his jersey? that is not illegal that is the very definition of holding/illegal use of hands masshole. Thank you for making it so easy for everyone to see what homer you really are. For your information......

I would like to put the official stat of drops on hold from yesterday's game.
When timing patterns are too early thrown, out of time, or any other way you wanna say it, it shouldn't fall on the receivers only.
On most of the passes that Brady missed on yesterday, was due to our front four. Our front four, whomever they were at the time, gave him hell!
If anything we learned more about them in this game than they learned from us. We got lots we can do against them. There isn't much that their offense can do against our defense.
Unless of coarse they grow some kind of running game against us. They know they can't run on us. They might find a scatt back on long downs who can run a little, but they don't have Marshall Faulk anywhere on that team. If no injuries happen to either team all season long, and they meet in the playoffs, our team can win. New England knows it.

Pats won the SB last year. We won 4 games. Rome wasn't built in a day. Give Bowles and Macc some time.

We all know who should have and could have won the Super Bowl. If they call a run play, two or even three times in a row, the Patriots lose again.

Our team is different from last season.
And if anything, our improvement shows how close all teams in the NFL really are. We are not too far away from winning one.
I'm a supposed Dark sider, and even I can see our stellar defense ( this year or the next), can be aided by our offense against any team. We are not too far away from a big game at the end of the year. I would love a Super Bowl, but see a solid playoff team this year. I believe I am right.

Did you really watch the game? Or did you cheerlead through most of it? Lol
Gronk was semi-neutralized, they went heavy TE's with a semi spread, and hit us a time or two, Pryor left, and we still could have won. Their last TD was a 50-50 play. We guessed wrong.
I wasn't shocked when they didn't run the ball at all. They took away our strength. We were taking away their strength until Pryor went out. We were a couple plays away from winning..... Did you watch the game?

    This.

Also, everyone is giving the Pats WRs way too much grief about dropped passes (on here, the media, everywhere). First -- I hate all of them, and I wish they had dropped more. I don't know how many posters on here ever played, but if you did you have to see that the Jets had pretty great coverage, especially on the outside, and our pass rush, was forcing Brady to get rid of the ball quick--at least until they were gassed in the 4th. It really is a credit to Brady that he was able to get the ball to the right spot at the right time in these conditions (and I don't compliment that douchenozzle lightly). I understand these guys are NFL receivers, and they're supposed to catch the ball if it's where it's supposed to be, but tight coverage plus no time means the ball is zipped in there with no touch whatsoever and the WR is giving 100% effort just to get a half inch of separation. There is no margin for error whatsoever. None. They're lucky they didn't "drop" more.

You could really see this in the 4th, when our pass rushers were gassed, Pryor was out, (was Skrine out for a bit?), the drops disappeared.

Been a fan way too long to get optimistic at this point. I can easily see the Jets stubbing their toes several more times like they did the Eagles game and finishing up 7-9, 8-8 or something like that. Hopefully they will prove me wrong, but I have been disappointed way too many times before. Maybe this will be the regime that changes it all.

Yep, watched whole game. Twice. You said "there isn't much their offense can do against our defense"... Which is an absurd statement given Brady led all QBs in yardage this weekend, and the Patriots were without their receiving RB and 3/5ths of their starting O-line. I pointed out your absurd statement, and you made some inane comments in reply.

    Any further questions?

Yeah, I'm not so sure I agree with this. Eight Patriots caught 34 passes. Gronkowski alone had a third of them.

Watch it a few more times. Maybe you will see it for what it is. You realize they abandoned half of offensive football history, right?
The patriots threw the ball every down but 5 numb nuts. Do you not see what the big picture is? The Pats went to a package that put two Gronk size, receiving TE's, plus this normal 3 on the outside, and slot. Sure they move them all around..... That's why Brady is a Hall of Fame QB. They struggled.
If we eat one 15 yard penalty the next time we play them, Brady will be gone and so will the Dynasty.

How many did he catch on their last two drives again?

    All of them? (Sarcasm.)
    Did you watch the game?

Wait. I see the argument you're trying to make now.

So, he had 11 catches for 108 yards and they were pretty well spread throughout the entire game, with five of them in the last two drives. This was the most receptions he's had in any one game and the second-most yards in any single game for 2015. Because you're so committed to the point - I checked. Y'know - because I care.

If you wanted to argue that we did as well as anyone has this year by keeping his per-catch average under 10-yards, it's a better argument. But still. Gronkowski -"semi-neutralized"? I suspect he has as good a game as New England could have hoped. It's a thin point.
