And don't forget Fitz's dumb decision on the next to last drive. A jump ball to Dev Smith on 3rd and 7 when he had Decker underneath for the first on the same side of the field. Just dumb risk.
Time management. Special teams. Defensive playcalling was shit today. Benching players for no reason (Kerley) despite by far being the best #3 receiver on the roster. That wasn't a bad decision. It was an awful throw. He just can't throw the ball that far.
I feel like going to Devin Smith in any crucial situation is a bad move at this point. Don't know what it is but him and fitz have no chemistry what so ever.
It has nothing to do with chemistry. It has everything to do with a QB that can't throw a deep ball. Smith will never catch a 30+ yard pass as Fitz can't throw more than 20.
Devin Smith is a great deep catch passer. Ryan Fitzpatrick cannot throw the ball deep. Devin Smith is also a rookie who hasn't developed other routes. Add up all that, and it's pretty clear what's happening with Devin Smith.
I haven't rewatched it so I'm going off memory but it seemed like Smith wanted to go over the top of the CB and fitz wanted to go backshoulder. I don't disagree that his deep ball sucks but I also don't think him and Smith were on the same page either.
the team looked like the same old jets team to me. 7 weeks in and we're 4-2 having only beat dogshit teams. I'm not thinking playoffs, this team will lose a lot of games this year.
Actually he's totally right, Fitz has a record number of throws to Smith that were underthrown. Had Fitz lead him another five yards or so Smith is in the end zone, he definitely beat the DB there.
Do you watch games? I feel like you can't possibly watch any games to think saying Fitz underthrows receivers is equivalent to smoking crack.
This shows how effing clueless you are. The Jets still have a lot of holes. We do NOT have the talent to be a great team. I suggest mumbly peg or tiddly winks, that's more your speed.
Some retardation going on in the last few posts. Can you guys come up with an original comeback or is ripping on old players/coaches the only thing you guys can think of? A post involving someone loving mediocrity, someone posting about Geno and Rex even though I don't want Geno to be a starter or Rex to be our coach, and someone who thinks ANY criticism of the team means the person shouldn't be a fan. Absolute lunacy.
You seem to forget Belichick's early years which is funny because he's a superbowl winning coach. Simmer down.
Yeah, where do you guys get off thinking that being 4-2 in this league is somehow okay? This team needs to win every game they play for the rest of time, if they want my respect. Hell, they need to score on every single play--Offense, Defense, or Special Teams. A real coach would make sure the team never lost the coin flip! This team hasn't won any more games than last years squad! (please disregard the difference in number of losses and the vastly improved talent, play calling, and attitude exhibited)
