I miss Rex, but not as our HC. He is a likable guy. I'm totally content with Bowles.

I miss the feeling I got with Rex in 2009,'when I didn't really know how he coached. Then he kept doing the same things over and over again, and saying the same things too.

    It gets old.

The best backstory of this offseason was Bills fans telling us what Marrone was going to do to our team and then they hire our fired coach and he does exactly what he did to us

No, but that doesn't mean Rex isn't a heck of a coach. We just replaced him with someone equally as good, or maybe even better. But most likely we'd still be 4-1 if Rex was our coach this year, with an actual secondary and Leonard Williams at his disposal. (not to mention Fitz-magic, Marshawn Lynch-lite, and "The Machine" Brandon Marshall on the other side of the ball). Rex was screwed royally by Idzik, everyone knows that, even non-Jets fans.

i very much like rex and wish him success in buffalo (i'd be happy with him taking 2nd place in the division every year behind us) but I'm very happy with bowles. he seems to have all of rex's strengths but without his weaknesses and craziness. rex was much more entertaining though

Tell me you're sarcastic, please? We have outscored opponents in the 3rd Quarter something like 35-0. THERE IS NO WAY Rex would make those adjustments. He's doing the same shit in Buffalo he did here. Stick the gameplan he had before the game and if the opponent is doing something different than what you prepared for, well you're shit out of luck.

You do. You've been a Rex apologist ever since he left.

Yea I've always liked Rex sure but comparing him to this coaching staff is pointless. Its a new era , we have one of the best teams we have had in years the roster is one of the best since 2009-2010 so to compare Rexs final few years with the worst roster in the league to where we are now is meaningless.Unless you think we would be 4-1 right now with last years roster and the new coaching staff

It's like you are trying to transform yourself while still being an apologist.

    Ok, I'll bite...
They were in fact elite in 2009.
But talent fell off pretty quick after he took over...
    And kept falling...
    And falling...
    And falling...

    Year Coach Rank Total Points
    2005 Edwards 23 355
    2006 Mangini 6 295
    2007 Mangini 14 355
    2008 Mangini 18 356
    2009 Ryan 1 236 ... High hopes. Almost realized.
2010 Ryan 6 304 ..."Soon To Be Champs..." Almost.
2011 Ryan 20 363 " “I thought we’d win it the first two years. I guarantee we’ll win it this year.”
2012 Ryan 20 375 ....ended 6-10... Season Sanches was benched.
    2013 Ryan 19 387 ....Geno!
2014 Ryan 24 401 ..."on the cusp of doing some special things. … confident we will be a playoff team.... sabotage!"
2015 Bowles 1 75 .... "a chance to be a decent team." (RR, btw, during his intro news conference had already predicted Buffalo goes to the playoffs)

It's almost as if the more he got a team in his image... the worse we became.
But I'll let him off the hook for last year.

I've been missing him every day since he was fired..... I'm a lousy shot apparently. Then again he did lose weight, so he's a smaller, faster target.

And this is the point I've made to a lot of people over the years, so I could not agree more. Rex was a good DC who benefitted from a stacked Jets team. It really isn't nothing more than that. It isn't that RR isn't a good coach, it is that he is not a good HEAD coach and, at this point in his career, his defenses are becoming stale. His record clearly demonstrates this and it is being reinforced as we speak, week-to-week.

The more season hunter would know to go the E.T. route and leave a trail of Reese's pieces.

I don't think we need to crap on all ex-coaches either frankly. A good example is Mangini. I never cared for him as a HC, but in retrospect he deserved accolades for finding talent. I have wondered if perhaps his real talent isn't as a HC but as a GM. However, RR was a blowhard who was very fortunate to get those wins. While I appreciate those two runs, if he didn't have those two magical, back-to-back AFC title appearances then we would have moved on from his train wreck a LOT sooner. I think for me, RR gets a verbal scat-fest because he dishes it out, constantly, but doesn't back it up. It is obnoxious. Even when he was our coach I thought he was an ass....

We're one of the only team that has the fortune to see annoying coaches get a job immediately to ruin other AFC teams every time. First it was Herm, then it was Mangini, now it's Rex.

What you should be hoping is that the trend ends with Rex.
