Oh yeah, I did not even speak to why Philly would want to do the trade under discussion. I agree with you, they would not. I was only speaking to whether the Jets are happy with the current RB rotation. Current I think not. With Ridley back? Let's see how that goes. But for the Jets IF they could get Sproles for Kerley, they would I think. WOn't happen, though.
Duh. Chip Kelly hates black players. "You see how fast he got rid of all the good players. Especially all the good black players. He got rid of them the fastest. That's the truth. There's a reason. ... It's hard to explain with him. But there's a reason he got rid of all the black players -- the good ones -- like that." -LeSean McCoy
Sproles for Kerley would be a no brainer. Arguably the most explosive returner and player in space since he's been in the league (- Hester) for a good but not great slot receiver, yeah that's not a difficult choice. All that being said, never going to happen.
I completely forgot we have Ridley coming back . If he can come out prove that he's capable of being a feature back that's guna be huge for us. As much as I like Powell , I think the philly game proved he not able be the main guy. Having a fresh of legs to fill in and let ivory rest is going benefit us hugely if we can make it to the post season. Anyone know when he's supposed to be back ?
It occurs to me that if we had a real fullback instead of Tommy B., then Powell, Stacy, and Ridley might look a lot better in relief of Ivory. Of course, that would probably help Ivory look better, too--and likely keep him off the injury report longer.....
step 1 . make asinine trade suggestion step 2. kill g.m. for not making said asinine trade suggestion every time something goes wrong related to that position
After a few decades of watching the Jets acquire offensive veterans, I think the program works like this: If the head coach is defensive-minded and the player busted out a big play against the Jets, the Jets must acquire him. I cite Herm Edwards and Justin McCareins's big MNF reception against the Jets along with Rex Ryan being rolled over by Tim Tebow of the Broncos as proof of this hypothesis. Ergo: Sproles will be a Jet.
