The defense is looking outstanding this year. I am real concerned about the penalty yardage... I think against the Dolphins had a 75 yard TD drive and I believe that over fifty yards were in penalties. The Jets do not need to give teams that much help.

The teams we have played all pretty much suck, let's wait until we at least play somebody decent before talking about how great our defense is.

Due to a nice hit at the goal line, McCown only had one series against the Jets D.

I'm pretty sure that hit saved the game for us. McCown was moving the Browns at will and the defense was having trouble getting organized. It would have been a classic tight trap loss on opening day to a worse team if Pryor hadn't turned him into McCopter.

What I remember about Rex's first games as HC were the ridiculous blitzes, especially against the Texans. Sadly, the effectiveness of those blitzes waned. I won't pretend to know exactly why all of a sudden they lost their effectiveness or whether Bowles blitzes and schemes will eventually become figured out by the league. IMO, Rex's blitz's relied more upon stellar coverage from Revis and Cro, Bowles has a way better stable of guys on the line that can get to the QB coupled with Revis, Cro as well as Skrine in coverage. Skrine has also proved to be a very valuable asset as a blitzer as well.

Like you, I am happy with most everything that we've seen so far.

Sadly, we all already know the answer to that
