Our defense would be historic right now if we had some semblance of an offense that could keep them off the field. F*ckin Fitzpatrick...
Its weird with Fitzpatrick, something in me thinks he just doesn't have the strength/endurance to handle 16 weeks of football and still be effective. Its almost like he should be put on a pitch count or something...
The way Fitz ran wild I thiught he was going to get injured, especially when the retard kicked him in the head
Year in and year out its the same flaws that hold this team back and rear their ugly head at the worst possible time against the elite opponents. We should all know what they are so no need to recount. But its a 3-1 record so why bitch about them now. Until our record goes south, its a topic for the offseason.
Ivory leads the league in rushing. Fitz is in the top 5 in passing yards, Marshall I think is ranked 3rd or 4th in receiving yards. Not too shabby.
Guys are going to catch up now because he's got one less game obviously. Forte is now 1st with 360, Ivory sits at 320 ahead of Jamaal Charles who played in 4 games. He's been a monster so far, I hope he keeps it up. He deserves a lot more attention nationally.
Special teams is awful. They're a killer to this team. Fitz is a stop gap-type QB. We knew what we were getting when we signed him. He's been fine thus far. As long as he plays well enough to keep Eugene on the bench, it's our best option. Losing Amaro sucks, but our TE situation isn't great.
Happy with the win and agree with about all you say. But RIGHT NOW the jets need a punter who can kick off. Except for a few punts Quigley has been marginal this year and Folk is a fine kicker but never gives you a touchback. Remedy both by getting a decent punter who can kick off thru the end zone. gotta be someone out there.
There are only 4 teams in the AFC with a winning record.. NE, DEN, CIN and... NYJ. This conference is so mediocre that I think there's a legitimate argument to be made that we're a top 4 team in it. If only we had a QB.
To be fair, and the part of repressed homer in me aside, those PI calls were ass. Not sure what a coach could do to improve that
Yep we are what we are a flawed team .... but we are 3-1. The ST are not very good - whether its scheme, players or coaching we are not that good and we need a new punter now (my hope they are looking to try some out over the next two weeks). As for Prior is playing better but still doesn't tackle well and takes poor angles period...something that was noted pre-draft. I see a lot of gasers next Tuesday... LOL.
Oh, I don't know. Add Sheldon Richardson to this DL and suddenly things will start to look a lot more interesting. Plus we still have the ability to control the clock against a Pats defense that (if possible) is even worse against the run this year than they were last year, and a deep defensive secondary that will control the Pats receivers better than any Jets team has since 2011. One thing for sure, I am not afraid of the Pats games this year. I'm calling a split right now.
This sort of thing can burn out a RB even within the season. Remember the year Larry Johnson ran for 2000 yards, and just ran out of gas in the playoff game that year? I'm glad he is short a start and I hope that they control his carries a bit going forward. Big backs need to be fed, but there's no reason to go wacky on this. Even that near-fumble today smacked of tiredness; he looked a little gassed getting up after runs in the third/fourth quarter.
