Hmm but Crummy 's a top5 corner? Complete beast, and everybody was so happy to have him back?

Yes. After a few years of Kyle Wilson, to watch Buster is so nice. It's like a little reward for all the shit we've had to watch.

Both are serving us pretty well how they are now. I say keep it how it is. Pretty sure Williams played more this week than usual. Come next year Cro may or may not be here, but his presence on the field, as a name and leader are invaluable for morale. When he makes a PD it gets all the fans and players riled up. I can definitely see Marcus being a long term starter for us, though, even after Cro and maybe Revis are gone. Could be looking at Marcus, Skrine and Dee by the time Revis retires. (Provided Dee isn't injured.)

Excellent point. The "What If" factor needs consideration. What if you make that switch? What if MW gets hurt after making the switch. It's almost like the QB switch (i.e - you could never go back).

Marcus Williams has been a really pleasant surprise! I said it in week 2 after Cro's injury, that MW should be there. See how it goes the rest of the way! I trust Bowles.

Cro is gone next year. They're going to need the extra cap space from cutting him to pay Mo and/or Harrison. Hopefully they'll trade him near the trade deadline when Milliner is ready to play. Maybe they can get a 3rd round pick from someone desperate for a starting corner then.

Cro is so hard to explain. He's been for the most part , bad as a Jet. Except for when Revis was injured in 2012. I dont get it.

He should be eating up these number 2's and 3's but he's getting burned by no names.

    Maybe he's still injured?

Im losing patience with him as well but moving Williams out of his current role keeps me skeptical on how effective he would be if given more snaps.

It may be hard to remember since he's injured often, but back when we let Revis go we drafted a CB in round 1 as a "replacement". Now he's buried in the depth chart. He's not a bad player at all, he's just always hurt and inconsistent, but the ability is there.

Lol I recall. Just mocking the situation because he's conveniently been injured for the majority of regular seasons since we've drafted him. Would be nice for him to show something. He had a solid last 1/4 of his rookie season but hasn't seen the field since.

Was against the Cro signing from the get go and now that there is someone way cheaper playing way better, I'm even less of a fan. He's just not good anymore. Williams is up and coming and already playing better than Cro. Hopefully it happens at some point this year because we aren't going to be able to get away with these major Cromartie gaffes for 12 more gaffes.

Haha Jets fans are so fickle. Cro has been a solid #2 CB so far this year. He allowed the TD week 1 and week 2, but you guys act like he gets burned constantly. Not everyone is Revis. In fact, there is only one. Williams has definitely been good in his limited action, but Cro needs to play much worse to warrant a demotion.

We act like he gets burnt constantly because he gets burnt constantly. He hasn't been solid. Marcus Williams has been solid.

I agree with you, Williams is unknown in the very least in covering a premier #2 receiver for an entire game. I am a big fan of his and think he will get there, but Williams looked pretty mediocre in the preseason when challenged. That's why easing him into more playing time is the right way to go. Basically make him beat out Cromartie, and if he slips up, well Cro could just go back to handling the #2 spot until the end of the year.
