Those are the types of things and type of legacy that I want to leave. I believe I've worked hard to do that and when I do retire, I don't think I'll have any regrets." Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006 ~ ~ Jets WR Laveranues Coles, quoted on newyorkjets.com on the great rapport that he has developed with QB Chad Pennington: "He trusts me a lot. ? Any time you have a relationship with a quarterback ? especially the relationship I have with Chad ? it makes things that much better. He is going to put it out there and trust that I am going to make the play or nobody is going to make the play. That?s the type of relationship we have with each other. > http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/The+Way+We+Hear+It/default.htm?mode=afceast
Chemistry between a QB and receiver is probably the most important factor in terms of how well they'll do together on the field. Who would have thought Vinny and Chrebet would turn into such a strong act for 3 seasons? It certainly wasn't Chrebet's phyical skills and Vinny was about half the QB when he went to anybody else. But when he was throwing to Chrebet he looked like Dan Marino.
Being a Jets fan aside, that loss in Pitt hurt me a little extra because of Curtis. He wanted it so bad. The conference after said it all.
