Luck = Big Ben last night. Frustrating to watch when it comes to taking him down. Defense did a good job of getting back there but the kid is too good.
I need to go back and watch the game again, but overall I was impressed with the players and the play calling. I have a few comments on some of the stuff being said in this thread so far, for instance I believe Snacks' snap count was largely due to both game planning and game situation. The Colts are a high powered passing offense, and although he's a better than average pass rusher for a nose tackle, it's really not his area of strength. When you add the fact that we led the whole game, the Colts were even more pass-happy. In my opinion, more snaps for Snacks would have been a bad move by the coaching staff. Nothing about Ivory's lack of production was his fault, the Colt's run defense was outstanding. I believe the Colts defensive game plan was to put the major effort into stopping the run and making Fitzpatrick beat them through the air. Unfortunately for them, our 5 takeaways really hung their defense out to dry, making Fitzpatrick's night easier. Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker both played great, and I'm really happy with how Brandon Marshall has turned out. He is the obvious leader on offense, you can see his energy is the momentum starter for the whole unit. Fitzpatrick's arm is just not good on deep throws, and there's just nothing we can do about it. Hopefully Devin Smith's famed deep ball tracking will help with that, because that's really the main weakness of Fitzy's game. I need to watch Cromartie closely when I re-watch, because in my opinion he wasn't a liability. Before I really put out an opinion, however, I need to take another look. Pryor is becoming that player that I was so excited for when we drafted him in 2014, and you could see he's forming a relationship with Revis in that secondary. I always said re-signing Harris was a very good move, and that's becoming very apparent. Decker and Marshall are on pace for over 1,000 yards a piece and 16 TD's each, and our defense is on pace to lead the league in turnovers. The 16 TD's each is probably the least likely, but that's a great place to be.
