Considering we're in a much more stable state without Herm, and a possible blooming feature back, I'd say we done all right!

    OH YEAH!

This is one of those little diddys you smirk about after Leons picks up a first down.

Yesterday, while watching the score of the chiefs almost tossing one away...I couldnt stop laughing...bastards had to pull it out and ruin the perfect day.

Here we have a guy, Leon Washington, who could easily adopt the name "Lightning" and you are not happy.

houston had one game with 20 or more carries if i remember.(oak last yr) and i dont think he ever broke 100 yards rushing. even then im not sure but i dont think hes had a 100 yard day ever.

not to mention washington looks like flat out the best back on our team. cedric houston isnt as fast or agile.

point is leon washington is not cedric houston.

If Leon pans out, we should pick up a mammoth RT ot OG in the 1st round next year, then finally get our NT in the 2nd.

Draft order for 2007: 1- NT (ugh, but Bradway's pick ain't gonna get it done there), 2- RT (the line is then set for a half dozen years, assuming that Adrian Jones can slot in for Kendall when he retires), 2- RB (always have more than one potential franchise back on a team - see Steelers and Broncos for why), 3- DE (Ellis needs a bookend to make the 3-4 solid.)

Thereafter the Jet's can just snipe for the best available player in my opinion.

You have 4 guys keying on Bush every time he hits the field. If Washington keeps up his performance he'll get the same treatment in a few weeks. You can't hide from your own performance in the NFL for long.

I'm not even going to lie, it looks like we have our own Warrick Dunn in a JETS uniform. If Leon keeps this up, the JETS won't have to look for a running back in next year's draft and can focus on the D-Line and O-Line.

He could be better than Dunn. He makes people miss, breakaway speed..but what he has that Dunn doesnt have is that for a "little guy" he isnt easy to bring down.

Hey.its early but its not like this kid is breaking through large holes and just running like a group of Bronco backs that went to other teams and never lived up to the hype.

Bottom line is that Barlow, while running better and Washington are running behiind the same line that has difficulty in producing.

Washington is making some big yards on his own..and thats the sign of a possible star.

A few of us, including me, never were crazy about Martin for one simple reason. Martin was a great great back. He always lacked the ability to take one to the house..and this kid can do that.

    We shall see.

This kid reminds me of Wayne Chrebet during his rookie season. In preseason that year, you looked at Wayne and just had that feeling your eyes werent lying to you. You knew Wayne was special. Its just the same vibe I get about this kid.

    Could be wrong..time will tell.

i'm of the opinion that RB can wait another year; this class is headed (right now) by Kenny Irons and Adrien Peterson (should he declare and I think he will). the 2008 draft will be fully loaded with excellent backs. with Washington's emergence - and he consistently plays like he has - RB won't be a huge need and can wait for the better class ('08).

i say continue beefing up the OL and nab the NT. however, no one at NT stands out just yet. i really like Gaines Adams (Clemson) at DE. With Kimo being old, Dave Ball average, BT switching to OLB, and Robertson on very thin ice, DE may be a big priority this Offseason. in R2 we can still get a NT and a stud OL, especially if the Skins continue their downward spiral. but we'll see how things play out.

    cheers
