http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...rything-including-bradford-will-be-evaluated/ The Eagles offense flopped in grand fashion on Sunday against the Cowboys as their 21 first-half yards, three turnover and total inability to run the ball helped the Cowboys to a 20-10 win that came despite the loss of Tony Romo to a fractured left clavicle and 18 penalties that would normally make it difficult to win a football game on the road against a division rival. When the Eagles offense played the way it did on Sunday, however, all things are possible. Coach Chip Kelly, who both designed the scheme and hand-picked the players to fill the roster, will bear most of the heat for the performance. At his postgame press conference, Kelly said that the Eagles won’t win games if they can’t run the football and that offensive line changes will be considered after the team ran for seven yards on 17 carries. Some will surely suggest that the Eagles shouldn’t have gotten rid of both starting guards from last year’s team, but only a souped-up DeLorean is going to make a redo possible on that front. Kelly said that everyone involved with the offense will be evaluated, including the team’s coaches and quarterbackSam Bradford, who Kelly said he didn’t consider benching on Sunday. Bradford had a hand (or a chest, in the case of a snap that he wasn’t expecting) in all three turnovers andMark Sanchez would get the call in the event Kelly wants to shift gears. Bradford wasn’t good, but Kelly’s right about the team’s need to fix the run game. They are built to run the football and they’ve now picked up just 80 yards in the first two weeks. If they can’t run it better, any quarterback is going to have a hard time succeeding in Kelly’s offense.
Bullshit. Bradford sucks, but they aren't going to sit Bradford after only two weeks after they just traded for him.
I know it's relevant but we still have Indy to play and this isn't for sure at all. Just another way to get Sanchez into another thread
Eagles sure don't look tough at this point. 33 carries for 70 yards rushing so far this season. They don't even have openers against the Jet's D at this point. Chip Kelly is in trouble if they can't run this season after he let the guards go. That's basic competency in question.
Before the season I was thinking that hitting the bye at 2-2 would be an accomplishment, and set us up for a playoff run. If we were to knock off Indy tomorrow, there's a very realistic scenario in which we're 4-0. One game at a time, but the first quarter of the schedule looks much less daunting than it did just a week ago.
Easily going to be on a short leash. If his first half is like tonight's first half, I'd bet Bradford gets pulled.
This is Chip Kelly we are talking about so it wouldn't surprise me. With the way Bradford is playing I hope he starts.
Ummm...Chip...I told you. Sam Bradford sucks. Mark Sanchez ain't Joe Montana, but just because Bradford was a number one pick, doesn't make him a player. Bradford is more careful with the football. Sanchez is the better player.
Atleast Sanchez knows the offense. Bradford has skill but he's the wrong type of QB for that type of scheme. As long as he's in there the Eagles will be in trouble.
