Didn't we already establish this in that other idiotic thread?

I must have missed where others have talked about this topic in another thread. I was just discussing it with friends and thought I would ask the question here. Did not expect the response the thread has been given thus far. Haha.

Yes and course somehow junc could discredit everything Montana accomplished because he read in a book that Parcells said the 49ers would tamper with the headsets. There was none better than Montana sorry 4-0 is much better than 4*-2 and no QB has ever come close to the magic Montana had in 88/89. 19 TD passes and 1 INT (which came in the very first game of that run) ending with the greatest single performance in SB history when they made the Broncos look like a pee wee team.

It was the thread where junc declared Brady the greatest asterisked QB ever

The 4-0 vs 4-2 argument is baseless. As has been repeated (correctly) ad nauseum, Montana losing before getting to the SB is worse than Brady making the SB and losing. I could possibly see both of those seasons as the same, but it's not better for Montana by any means.

I could see that argument if the 2 weren't to Eli Manning.

Montana didn't need to have low level ball boys sneak into lockerooms to steal scripted play sheets and he surely didn't need films of his opponents walkthroughs the day before the SB.

Montana won his Super Bowls like a boss.

Is this one of those "If I wish really, really hard, my wishes will come true?" -type situations? Your life must be grand when you have to spew that nonsense day after day after day. Facts, what are those? Maybe you have nothing else in your life but try to go outside and do something else for a change.

Hard to go against Montana, although his team was stacked. And the best WR in league history was cheating game after game so that helped also. But can anyone argue that the 49ers wouldn't have those titles if Marino was their QB? It always comes down to what kind of team you play for. Of course it doesn't matter if your QB is a guy like Sanchez, winning a title with a quy like that takes a legendary defense. (See Baltimore, Dilfer)

SB games since free agency are almost always close, so Brady is one bounce away from being 6-0 or 0-6 even. Still miles ahead of Manning. Peyton is a wonderful QB in October if you play fantasy league and want 6 TD's in a 25 point win. Now if you want to win playoff games then it's a different conversation. Brady in a landslide in that case. Hell give me Romo in the 4th quarter of any game if the other choice is Peyton.

Statistically speaking Romo is one of the best 4th quarter QB's in the league and has the stats to prove it. Unfortunately his team hasn't been very good and he gets all the blame for it, always. Peyton on the other hand never gets any blame for anything. It's like the media people try to cover for him when he drops out (yet again) as a favourite in the playoffs. That SB vs Seattle was downright pathetic.

But I wouldn't mind if the Dolphins had someone like Romo (a younger version) instead of Tannehill. Would give us a better chance of winning. I smell another 8-8 or 7-9 season coming.

Yes, Bradshaw is better than Brady. I didn't think your credibility could get any worse.

Obligatory, "Brady didn't need WR's with stickum" comment. Your post is garbage.

    Because it's true.

Btw, Rice wasn't there for 2 of Montana's 4 boss like Super Bowls.

    Try again.

    Between the 2 of them...........Brady.

Peyton's played most of his games in a dome or up in the stratosphere, Brady gets to play in the open air at sea level in lovely New England.

Peyton has (aside from his first 3 years) been sharing a division with heavyweight teams like the Jags, Texans and Raiders, bad as we and the Bills have been we've never been that bad.

    Playoff's, titles, etc....

Or if the NFC in the 80's wasn't leaps and bounds better then the AFC is today. There are maybe 2 or 3 teams every year that come out of the AFC that could win the Super Bowl. The NFC in those days had the end of the Landry era Cowboys, the Joe Gibbs Redskins, the Parcells Giants, Da Bears, Of course the 49ers and even the Rams and Vikings had some really good teams in those days. The gauntlet of teams that Montana had to go through to win a Super Bowl wasn't even close to the sleepwalk Brady and Manning have had to go through.

I used to think it was Peyton but over the past few years it isn't even close Imo. TB has pulled far far away.
I get Montana was 4-0 in the super bowl but god dam 6 Super Bowl appearances?!? You can't punish the guy for getting there.. It isn't better to lose in the championship game and remain undefeated in the super bowl
