Can NFL fans stop labeling this guy a choker when it could not be farther from the truth? We all saw the stat that he leads the league in 4th quarter comebacks since he became the Cowboys starter in 2006. That drive last night was one of the best two minute drills I've ever seen - no timeouts, no Dez Bryant, and no spikes. The Giants were completely on their heels and Romo picked them apart like very few quarterbacks can. On a night where the entire Cowboys team looked terrible, notably his receivers, he willed them to a win. I'm not declaring him elite, as I think only Brady and Rodgers are in that category, but he's damn close. I would kill for the Jets to have a quarterback with half of Romo's ability.
It's not Romo being clutch - it's more of Eli being an utter retard. Seriously, look. 23-20, 1st and goal, with the ball inside the 10. 1:45 to go, and the opposing team has only 2 timeouts to burn. Can you lose this game? Because - somehow, Eli Manning pulled this off. It takes special kind of [retard] to pull this feat off, so... I tip my hats off to you, Eli Manning. You are indeed a moron. ========================================================== Seriously, if they just ran the ball three times, Cowboys can't stop the third one. Off you go - that's minimum 50 seconds for ya. Take the timeout at the last second, then kick the FG. Then kick it off. Romo will have to march down 80 yards in less than 50 seconds. Instead of 1:33 like he did that game. What was the problem? Yes. Eli Manning. Why throw away on 3rd down? Is he that retarded? YES. HE IS.
That drive with 1:33 left was unbelievable. I didn't even care who won and as yelling at the TV has he was tossing those little 12 yard dinks in the middle of the field as time was winging down and he was totally poised and in control. I thought it was very impressive.
Romo looked "Peyton Manning-esq" in that game the way he was reading the D. It really made me think Romo has gone from really good to elite. It reminded me of Peyton or Tom Brady calling audibles on the line and then executing with perfection. Yeah, Eli screwed up royally by throwing the ball away, but Romo still looked top notch in his reads.
You guys are just "average fans" who wouldn't know a good QB if you tripped over one. Recall these sage words: http://forums.theganggreen.com/thre...z-complaints-here.75036/page-673#post-2808123
I wonder how many of those comeback wins are comebacks because Romo made awful mistakes earlier in the game that put his team behind, thus forcing a comeback situation.
It's not all about 4th qtr comebacks early in the season. How about 2006 lost last 2 games of season then one and done in playoffs, 2007 lost 2 out of last 3 then one and done in playoffs, 2008 lost 3 out of last 4 just miss playoffs, 2009 he did good, 2010 he was out end of season, 2011 lost 4 out of last 5 no playoffs, 2012 lost last 2 no playoffs, 2013 lost 2 of last 3 no playoffs. It may not all fall on Romo but the track record kind of speaks for itself. Not saying I wouldn't want him right now but not all 4th quarter comebacks are created equal.
The dude is a choke artist whether you like it or not. Don't use last night's comeback as proof of being clutch. It was the Giants. They have possibly the worst defense in the NFL this year.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...ing-says-he-told-rashad-jennings-not-to-score Eli Manning has got to be the dumbest QB ever to win the Superbowl. Just what the fuck? TD there puts Giants up by 2 scores, with less than 2 minutes - and Cowboys don't have 3 time outs for all I care. Scoring TD there would have sealed the deal regardless of what Romo does. So he told his RB not to score? How dumb can you get to play QB in the NFL these days anyway?
Tom Coughlin taking the blame ..not buying it Coughlin did a Pete Carroll and is making sure the guns pointed at him. Blaming it on Eli...Not (fully) Buying it either. Ben "Dover" McAdoo calling a Pass...hmmm. Yea, Eli is a special needs QB but if you know this, and still give him the gun...then you have to be more stupiderererer
Apparently they think it is more likely for Romo to march down the field for a TD, then do a successful onsides kick, then score again in 1.5 minutes, than for him to score once in 50 seconds. But seriously, you tell your RB not to score and then throw an incomplete pass on 3rd? Do you want to run the clock down or not? I've seen Eli make plenty of boneheaded decisions but this one seems to take the cake. Even if they called a pass play, Eli still has the option to go down when it falls apart and that is what cost them the game. I thought it was over after the Beckham catch, but I should have known the Giants would F it all up.

He is a choker.
So Mark Sanchez is better than Tony Romo? You have to quote more than simply W/L record, it's a team game and Romo has also gotten better over the years.
