Its an overreaction. The same type of overreaction people are doing with crowning this kid the next great thing based on 1 game against a horrible team.

If he threw 4 picks instead would that automatically make him a bust?

No, Smith is the Winston, I hope Petty is more of a Brady after some time on the bench.

Even if we assume that Mariota will be a great QB, there's no way to know if the Titans would have traded out of that spot. So even if he does turn into the next Montana, I won't be losing any sleep over it.

    nope.

Who knows what sheldon's status is here long term. and wilkerson still needs a deal. landing leonard williams was enormous for us. Dline is a strength, and one we cant affford seeing take a hit given how horrid our edge pass rushers are.

I'm glad we didn't trade for Mariota because he is too "raw". That one is for Stokes.

Someone should go back and highlite the TGGrs who said Mariota is a spread QB that MUST sit for at LEAST a year and is garbage compared to NFL ready Winston.

Nobody in football was saying Mariota should sit. Maybe some people 'here' said it but #1 and #2 overall picks just don't sit anymore.

And stop trying to compare it to Petty, it's not even remotely the same thing. Mariota played for a guy who's now an established NFL coach that swore by him.

Would say it's WAY to early but not surprised Marcus is doing well. He's a unique talent. But trading the farm would have set us back years..... we couldn't afford him.

I admit Marietta's stats caught my eye today but it's only week 1. Lots of strange things happen week 1......plus TB is terrible. Considering the position the Jets were in going into the draft they did the right thing......my opinion.

Will Mariota look this good NEXT YEAR?

Beep me once you get the answer.

RGIII looked fucking awesome in his rookie year - keep that in mind. Where is he now?

We'll be fine without Mariota. Gene just got cleared by the medical staff to add soft foods to his liquid diet. He spent the 600 dollars he stiffed I.K on and bought
a ton of applesauce, pudding, and baby food.

    We can always look back on the "what ifs";
Marino, Sapp, the list goes on and on.

I'd rather concentrate on what we're building here going forward with the players we have.

Don't dismiss the performance because of the team. His numbers are off the chart.

I believe in the philosophy that you keep drafting qbs until you get a qb you can build your team around. I don't think Tennessee was looking to trade down so it doesn't matter.

Lmao crown his ass as the next Steve Young after one game

Geno had a 3 td game his rookie year also on the road, I guess that was a great foreshadowing for his career.
