You must be a new Jets fan because the Revis pre acl that we saw here shut down almost every route and every person he covered with the exception of Stevie Johnson. That's what makes him great. Granted he is older now but he looked a little slow out there today compared to what we are always used to seeing gorl the old Revis
First off maybe you should a checked my profile before making that statement. Second off no he hasn't. The route is designed that way for a reason. So unless he has the magic ability to teleport, he's gonna give those up any cb would. He wouldn't run up underneath a guy to chase him up a field. It doesn't even make sense. That's not how you play the position. Revis was fine today. His job was not to give up the deep throw on those plays and he did exactly that. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
yep.. Most sane folks tend to repeat success and abandon failure. I fully expect this CS to do the same. Now if they revert to the Ryan philsophy of staying with Plan A come hell or high water, of course everything changes but I'm thinking this CS is as different from the Ryan era as possible. We'll see what the trend is..
Nice job Cman Totally agree. Its was a very clean win. Loved the over the top passing to free up the running game. WE HAVE BEEN SCREAMING FOR THAT FOR YEARS. You don't have to complete them...you just have to show them its in the damn playbooks. On a selfish note....and f@#* all the rex lover's....I liked shots of our coach on the sidelines acting the same on a td we score or a long play we gave up. Not jumping around like a f'in buffoon. I liked how Fitzpatrick was running the play clock.down to less than 5 seconds even in the 3rd quarter when we went up by 2 scores. I pray Cromartie is ok but this kid Williams is really growing on me. We have had blowouts the past years....this was smart from mid 2nd quarter on....very.
So if it's a perfectly designed route that no one can cover one on one? Now you're trolling. He has always played bump and run and beat the receiver on their break to the inside or out his whole career. Today, he played off far and was slow on his break and got beat for 2 first downs by some scrub WR. He's the best for a reason. The way you're talking is that he can beat any time on an underneath route one on one. If that was the case, why would he be placed on an island then at at all especially on short yardage when anyone can just break off the route short and get a guaranteed catch? You make no sense
No it makes perfect sense. When you play man to man you call an underneath route that breaks. How do you think separation is created? You really think that wr that good that he could beat revis? No, but obviously you can win a game making throws like that all game so but to pick up a first down on a 2 and 6 or so, it works. Again football 101. Quick short throws for Manziel. same, the problem is Fitz hits a guy for one long gain and immediately goes for it again. He hit Owusu for 40+ on the play right before. He then goes for another 25+ plus passing play for the INT, which as I mentioned in another thread was mentioned to be his m.o.
where did I say he was 1-0? his winning percentage .750 thats the best of all time of every coach even those who coached 1 game unless Quinn wins tomorrow
Stats are all fine and shiny, but TOs win games. Thank goodness we have a WR who will tackle guys when they get INTs.
That play was great and an indicator of the change I'm talking about. Last year, that's a INT and the WR is simply trotting to the sidelines. This year, Marshall literally snatches the ball back from the defender and gains a few more yards. Mentally, this is not Rex's team anymore. At least so far...
This team never does well against mobile QBs. Perhaps it's because of our very slow LBs. Luck isn't mobile so I'm not as worried as some about next weeks game. I'm not predicting an easy W but at least we'll not have to worry about one glaring weakness. Also our CS has some tape and and their CBs aren't as formidable as those we faced today.
One thing I'm sure of, and that is this CS will have both a Plan A AND a Plan B just in case. I'm sure they'll be more than able to make adjustments on the fly as well during the game. This is a new dimension for this team. Something we as fans are not used to. No doubt that the NY Jets will show up in Indy next week. I'm hoping they'll be well prepared and ready.
Two of their last three possessions in the first half were drives that ended in TDs. I don't think they needed halftime to get it together and it was only the first quarter and a half where they looked so bad.
What game were you watching? He made the plays he had to and won the game. Some of the second progression reads and throws were excellence...something last years QB couldn't do.
Stop raining on the parade. Fitz gets credit because he did what he does best, manage the game. It was just one game. The way it seems to be goimg Geno will get a shot. Only than will it be fair to compare the two. As for me I'm happier seeing Fitz than Geno.
