Only for one more game though Getting that feeling again!! Fireman Ed is back! http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2015/09/hes_back_jets_superfan_fireman_ed_returns_to_duty.html
A lot of people don't like this guy but I do. I hope he does this for more than a game but I doubt it.
Again people continue to hate on the guy. The stadium has been like a library without him, but people can't see the forest for the trees. I also don't see anyone else stepping up to be the next super fan.
A lot of people feel like he makes it more about himself than the Jets. And him just disappearing when we started to struggle, not coming back to support the team, even when guys like Ed Reed asked him back. Now with a competitive team suddenly he shows up again. I can't say that I like him too much but his chant brings something to this organization, that playoff type feeling when Rex started here his first two years so I guess it doesn't hurt. It'll be fun for the people in the stadium, it'll be fun to watch them go nuts.
My exact feelings. I don't care about him one bit. He is a nobody for me. The thing I care about is the job he does on game days. Last year I went to 3 games and chant was not really what it was back in the fireman days. If he can bring back the Jets chant to its normal standard I will root for him. If somebody else can do a better job, I will root for that guy.
Forget this guy, "he's penning" things to announce he's coming back for "one game only". I get the stadium is a problem but you wanted out so stay out. The only thing that has changed since his departure is the outlook for the team. I agree with Hawk that the chant does bring something special to the game. However, there is also something to be said for not walking back on your position. “Originally, they called me to see if I would come back to what I had done. They took me out to lunch to see if I had any interest in coming back,” Anzalone told Yahoo! Sports. “I said no because it was the same problem, I couldn’t take my kids to the game. I told them I wouldn’t come back.” http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f...rement-lunch-meeting-report-article-1.1904378
You can hate on him all day long but the reality is, he backed this team thru thick and thin for 28 years. Some of the haters haven't been on this earth that long yet. I'm glad he's back. He walked away when he couldn't take the idiocy that used to be this team. A lot of us were fed up with "the circus" too. Fireman Ed put this team on the map with that chant. Give the man his propers and stop hating. He's only back for one game anyway so chill out.
There's millions of people who have been Jets fans for over 28 years.....FireMen Ed is a hall of famer in his own mind.Jet fan or not I just don't like the guy it has nothing to do with whatever he does with the chant. Did you walk away when things were falling apart?
I'm not hating him, but I can sure live without noise while our offense is on the field. And yes, it became self-promotion with him later. It's the whole image that bothers me. Tough guy, firefighter, but a little altercation with a couple of assholes and he is nowhere to be seen. Are you the leader, or is it just when all going well?
Exactly.......Every captain says "I'm going down with my ship" while the ships afloat, when the ship starts sinking there the first one looking for a life raft for themselves
