The NFL is currently the best professional sports league there is. They're going to hurt the league if they add 7 team playoffs. While you look at 4 or 5 teams as legitimate Superbowl teams, I can only count 7 teams that will legitimately have no shot at the playoffs. Jags, Titans, Browns in the AFC, and I guess you could toss the Raiders in there even though I think they're slowly getting there. Redskins, Bears, 9ers in the NFC. After that it's a free for all for those wild cards. I only see half the divisions as locks. NFC North - GB NFC West - Seahawks AFC South - Colts NFC East - Cowboys, and this is a bit more open than the other three IMO. The rest of the league is wide open. Can we take away this guy's thread making ability?

Nah. What the NFL needs now is pretaped interview segments where Brady breaks a chair over Goodell's head. Maybe Vince McMahon can become a consultant or something.....
I don't think it's a matter of the NFL becoming stale, I think it's just people growing up and it's just not as important to us as it was when we were younger. I don't know how old you are, but for me, I don't center my life around the NFL games like I did when I was younger. Still a good product and a lot of fun, just not as high a priority for me.

The Jets might as well give up now. The Patriots have already rigged that field with divots and sand traps, electromagnetic devices to alter football trajectories, and tiny needles in the field that pop up automatically when a Jet is tackled to inject him with micro quantities of nerve agent, causing momentary but uncontrollable twitching. We now have legalized football gambling via Draft Kings and Fan Duel, etc. One of them (I forget which) actually has a dedicated channel on Directv hosted by the Barber twins (Tiki and Rhonde.) Of course, I would have preferred the Barbie Twins, but how can you not be excited by these new developments?
won't be too long before that fan duel/draft kings stuff falls apart in one way or another..... the gov't shutting it down maybe, their own implosion/undoing, etc. I'll be shocked if people are still doing that by 2018
