I'm really not excited for the start of this season and Im not sure what's driving it.

Last year was tough because after about week 4 I was emotionally drained from the Jets. I watched every game but really didn't care about the result (outside of the Tennessee and New England games). I kind feel the same going into week 1.

Let's face it. The NFL is a QB league and unfortunately there are only 12-14 on the planet who fit the bill. When IK knocked out Geno we pretty much lost all hope of having a QB like that.

Also-this whole Brady/Goodell thing is nauseating.

    Ok.

What would your answer be if I told you the Jets lost to Josh McCown and the Browns at home?

Odd. With G. Smith out, I'm more optimistic.

Wait until you see Fitz on Sunday. There is a reason he was dumped by OBrien

Just because the Jets are bad doesn't mean the NFL is "stale". I'm as big a Jets fan as there is but I'm still a football fan, in down years you suck it up and enjoy the rest of the league.

I'm sure Browns fans are saying the exact same thing about the Jets.

    Near the regular season, no.

During the offseason, yeah. I checked out of here for a while because outside the draft I had no interest in what was going on. The major stories get pushed to me, but the rest is all just speculation and overreactions from reporters.

Once they start playing football, it's not longer stale because you get to see players play.

I don't think anyone here is losing interest in week 2 man. I get it, we have sucked for a long time. You are right the NFL doesn't have as much parity as it used to have. Teams with the best QBs win most of the time. Having said that though, this is a totally new team that will win more than 4 games this year. You gotta be excited for that progression. Fitzpatrick should hopefully keep us in games and Petty is waiting for his chance in the future. I think a good amount of people here think the Jets are going to the playoffs and I think that is a major mistake. I just want to see them play better and be annoying as hell to other teams. The entire rest of the league is definitely putting a W on their schedules for when they play the Jets. . I've gotten so much crap from others about how awful the Jets are gonna be. Lets prove them wrong and at least be the most annoying and hard fought team this year.

A lot of it has to do with the preseason games becoming increasingly boring and meaningless. There used to be a progression of seeing a team being molded from the first to last exhibition, now each game is designed to check out so many things and keep people healthy there is little to no chance of seeing the actual starters play a meaningful game.

That all changes tomorrow night for the NFL.

Brandon Marshall & Eric Decker look great in Chan's system... we got our buddies Revis and Cro back..this time with arguably the best d-line in football (when sheldon gets back).. Leonard Williams, Devin Smith, Mauldin... The future Broadway Bryce.. New coaches and front office in general. New attitude. I'm fucking pumped!!!

Glad you are back. Even if I disagree with you on certain things I respect your opinion/knowledge of the game. You also tend to avoid the pissing matches that the rest of us engage in.

Now enough of that bs! Were jets fans after all.. If we wanna be in midseason form were supposed to hate opponents AND our fellow fans so screw you!!

Are you actually telling ppl that have watched Mark Sanchez and Geno Smith for the past six seasons to brace themselves for so and so?

Fitzpatrick with a steel rod in his leg is the best QB we've had since Favre.LOL

What was so bad about his performance last year before he broke his leg as opposed to the crap we've been forced to endure?
