In the text messages he destroyed. And before you ask your next question, Goodell thinks they were there and that's all that matters.
Sheldon Richardson should sue the league. His urine test could have yielded a false positive. No one caught him in the act of smoking pot. There is simply no solid evidence that he did this.
Exactly, they have to appeal. The judge made a mistake saying the "Law of the shop" applies in this case re: not notifying Brady. The NFL can't possibly notify players in advance of every possible situation that may lead to a suspension. Now that this point has been made that's what the NFL will attack and I think they win on appeal and Brady gets suspended later on in the season.
The two points are that and the Fact Tagliabue said nobody has been suspended for obstruction when he was investigating bountygate...those are the two points he used to overturn it and nobody cares what may have been the case in the past.
that would get thrown out in court. Its in the CBA that Richardson's contract entails, that if you fail the league-administered drug tests you are subject to the agreed upon terms, methods and punishments. thats bascially how Brady is getting off. Not because there is no proof of his guilt, or even that there is anything wrong with calling him guilty. He's getting off because the union doesn't have an agreed upon procedure & punishment for players that cheat by deflating footballs and then in turn obstruct the investigation.
Karma works things like this out. I'm not worried. Let him play the first four games, let's just see what happens this season.
The evidence would not be in text messages, what was in text messages were his personal communications to his wife and his business associates which he does not want the wise-guy ex-football players in the league office leaking to everyone. The evidence would be in the footballs themselves, and the measurements of the footballs themselves show that there was no excessive deflation, hence, no case, just a bunch of sore losers. Julio
This isn't bad news. He has to face 3 of the best DL's in the league 6 times...I think one of them will break his azz in half this year!
I believe this thread belongs on the NFL page. The only direct effect on the Jets may be that if all or part of Brady's suspension is upheld on appeal he may not be available to play one of the games against the Jets this season.
Great when do we officially call this the Patriots football league? How does it feel to have beat the system again? God dammit I don't know why We even play the games anymore. Let's just hand this years Super Bowl to the Pats again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
um - yea - wells offered to take only texts matching his queries related to the case and trusted brady's lawyer to hand just those over. Rather than doing that he destroyed his phone. Sounds like the actions of an innocent man. And this ruling had nothing to do with Brady's guilt, in case you missed that.
Trouble is that thinking/believing/hoping they were there is actually piss poor evidence. I personnaly subscribe to he theory that he had sexy texts on his phone that didn't involve the wife and he sure as shit wasn't letting anyone else have evidence that would see him in serious alimony troubles! As for the effect on us, the fins and bills.............minimal. Given the schedule the Pats will probably end up with the same record as they would of with Jimmy under centre and I still favour the fins to take the division as the rest of us get caught in the Rex Vs Pats Vs Jets Vs Rex triangle and take each other down (plus I think we'll have Geno starting before the end of the season as.........Jets!).
Now you are just making stuff up. The ruling is based on the fairness of the case, and the fairness of the case can't be judged without reference to the actual evidence. Julio
In one sense it is good it was overturned and about to be appealed, every road game they play from now until it is finally decided Brady will be villified from the moment he steps on the field until the moment he leaves.
