Glad to see the initial reports. If they were giving him X Rays and think the injury is a bone bruise then it doesn't sound like we should be concerned about any ligament damage. Hopefully the MRI confirms this
The odds are VERY good that he's fine. Even without the MRI. Once you hit 3-4 hours after tearing your ACL there's so much swelling you would know beyond a doubt something is seriously wrong with your knee. It's not an injury that just goes undetected.
And MRI's generally are used to confirm the diagnosis. Extension tests identify whether the ligaments are torn. Clearly they don't really think it's a ligament issue at this point based on the x ray and extension tests that show the knee is likely stable. The MRI will simply be used to confirm that.
Actually the sideline doctors can manipulate the knee joint and pretty much determine immediately if the ACL is ruptured. It's a good sign that no one is saying ACL. _
I don't want to pee in your guys coffee this AM...while a bone bruise is relatively good news....depending on the severity it could be up to 6 weeks to heal ..let's hope not Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Brings to mind 2 devastating knee Injuries where we weren't as lucky, both non contact, Lance Mehl and Bob Crable
Lol. No one thought Benjamin and Nelson were fine. They both went down with the classic non contact "sniper shot" which 99% of the time is a major knee injury
It's not going to be 6 weeks. It may be a discomfort for that long but that's it. The kid is 21 years old and very nimble. He'll heal fast
@JasonLaCanfora: Continues to be sense of optimism that Jets top pick Leonard Williams suffered only minor injury Sat as he gets his MRI.
