The more of these Qb JAGS show up, the more likely its becoming that Petty will indeed be the backup Qb. Probably 3rd on the depth chart once Cheapo gets back.

;) Sorry, I couldn't help myself. My mind kept wandering to Vester even though I knew better.

I like what I've seen of Petty so far, huge game last week and if we give him adequate time to learn the system he may be pretty good.

Yeah, when they passed on Vick and Grossman I got that feeling too.

If Deez nuts loses in his bid for the presidency, we should bring him in for a workout also

hope so, as keeping 4 QB's will result in cutting a good player.
roll the dice with Petty as the backup until Geno's back..

Now I remember this guy -- he was one of Harbaugh's USD QBs. Supposedly a smart kid. Maybe he'll pan out as a backup, then a coaching intern? As long as it's not taking preseason snaps from Petty, this is okay, right?

his nfl record is 0-5 which means he isn't a whole lot worse than anything else we have had over the past few years.

Lifetime he has 5 TDs, 10 INTs, 10 Fum. and been sacked 17 times. Backup? Coaching intern? Bringing him in is somewhere along the lines of a "WTF are you thinking". I don't want him anywhere near Petty. Would it be along the lines of, watch him now do the opposite?

Even backups need backups! As long as Johnson doesn't take preseason snaps from Petty, anything is fine by me.
