Great stuff - thanks for putting this together. I tried reading it with my eyes half-closed, but that didn't improve the injury situation at all as far as I could tell...
Look around the league, the Jets are no worse off than alot of teams when it comes to injuries. The last few weeks have been brutal for injuries league-wide. Need to go back to 2-a day practices.
That is 1 insane list. At least we are lucky to not have any star players on i.r. or something to that degree.
Why hasn't Richardson been handed his additional punishment yet? We're a couple of weeks away from the season starting and I can't believe they would start week 1 still uncertain of his status after week 4.
That's why I can't imagine why players are clamoring for less preseason games. Training camp and two a days built strength in the particular muscles that players keep tearing. The more you run and cut in hard action the more used to tough cuts the ACL and MCL in players knees will be used to. I think there has to be a correlation to all of the torn ACL's to the training regiments players use today. All of the advanced knowledge of weight training emphasizes building muscles around the joints that end up growing to be too big for the joint to sustain. Perhaps less squatting and heavy leg exercises should be used for skill position players and reserved for those in the trenches. Having chicken legs never seemed like a strength in any position but maybe there's a reason that Emmanuel Sanders, Antonio Brown, and Desean Jackson have never had serious knee problems while we have already seen Jordy, and Kelvin Benjamin go down rather quickly with ACL's. It's tough to create the immediate correlation because players like Reggie Wayne, and Jamaal Charles have also had these injuries. It'd be interesting to see how many big guys vs. Smaller guys sustain these injuries. A study that's a bit too advanced for the amount of time I have unfortunately.
Man we have way to many injurys right now....If we are lucky and there are no other injurys we won't have a full line up until week 8
Just got the text that they cut TE Steve Maneri & signed LB Bryan Johnson. Maybe due to the Pace injury, who knows
Sheldon Richardson most likely wont see further punishment this season.. The nfl usually and i say usually waits for the case's outcome with the court before they pass down a suspension( see the Legarrette Blount and Le'Veon Bell case from last preseason both played full season). If he pleads this case out before the seasons over expect a new suspension of at the least one game but not more than two depending on the plea.
If we are eliminated late in the year, wish Richardson case settled and could serve penalty this year.
