By the Titans. It was just one year ago that Rex was crowing on and on at a summer press conference how Gates was "all the way back (from injury)," and had a great chance to be a major contributor for the jets in 2014. That's why the jets cut him about 3 weeks later, and why it took the Titans all of one preseason game to lose Gates. Rex Ryan always has a great eye for talent. He had Gates, Garrett McIntyre ("the most underrated player in the league!"), Dexter McDougle and many others already in the Hall of Fame, while most other people were wondering if they would survive the cut. I find it refreshing that Bowles doesn't go on and on about marginal players the way Rex did when he was here.
I seem to remember people on here acting like it was the end of the world when this guy got injured last year. Like he was some kind of difference maker.
I didn't think he was hall of fame bound but I thought he could've been a solid receiver. But oh well, I'm surprised he's still trying to play football.
